It’s a masterpiece. If you have a PS5 and still haven’t played it just buy it asap. It usually sells for $50 and it’s worth every penny even though it originally came out nearly 2 years ago. If you don’t believe me, then just look at the platinum rate. Roughly 15% of players have platinumed it. That’s extremely high, and it tells you just how well made it is that that many people fully completed it. The base game alone is fantastic and the Iki island expansion is just icing on the cake.

I’m still on my first playthrough far in act 2 since release, I’m just taking it very slowly and play other games in between but although it may not sound like it when doing it this way, I absolutely love this game! Just bought the PS5 upgrade so I’m gonna dive back in tomorrow. It’s quite the price but even in this video I can see it already looking even a bit better then it did in bc mode (which I didn’t think was possible) so even if it’s subtle, I’ll still notice it. Besides the graphical enhancements I really love the dualsense for more immersion so that’s also a big plus for me, and there is a new island which is said to be beautiful and fun to explore, so I think the upgrade is gonna be worth it even with the price it got

Never had a Pro but I have a PS5. I played it on a base PS4 so I can't wait until I get to see the differences for myself. Before I got a PS5 I thought haptic feedback would be a gimmick, I was wrong. It adds additional immersion making it wholly worthwhile.

Playing this game at 60fps with 4k resolution (regardless of checkerboarding) is truly remarkable.

Good that you mentioned dualsense upgrades but why skip on the instant loading speeds and instant fast travel plus the activity cards which just takes 6secs from ps home screen

I love a beautiful game and this is by far one of the best looking games I’ve ever played. I thought that last year when I played it on my base PS4. Can we all agree that we are at a point in graphics that we really don’t need to talk it them anymore. This video has the guy say, see the difference in the foliage? Let me zoom in! If u have to zoom in and slow it down to see the difference, there is no need to even talk about it. Iki Island is a blast and the dualsense features are great! That’s all u really need to know.

My only playthrough was on the PS5 spoiled problems I know but I can't imagine it looking much better It looked amazing, I'm looking forward to the expansion though

Great stuff, Michael. Having a blast playing it again. The visuals are a definite step up in resolution mode to be sure but what really makes it for me is the brilliant DualSense implementation and fantastic new 3D audio support. Can’t wait to get to Iki island…

4:59 NO, they stuck the cutscenes to 30 FPS on purpose for them to look more 'Cinematic' this was confirmed by digital foundry

Against my better judgement, I plumped for the PS5 upgrade. There's a minor improvement in visuals compared to the Pro version running on BC, the haptics are nice enough but add nothing to gameplay, and the Japanese lip-synch isn't all that synched from what I've seen so far. If Sony wanted this erroneously named "Director's Cut" strategy to justify the surcharge, this was not a promising step in that direction. Still a great game and I'm really enjoying getting back into it, but when Sony charges me basically a month's sub to GamePass for minimal bells and whistles, that's kinda taking the piss.

I really wish they would test this game on the high performance graphics mode on 1080p. Seeing as the majority of people just play on the 1080p TV. And also how the quality should be higher than regular 1080p due to downsampeling, chroma subsampling and having more of the "Y" daaa for the video. Please do more tests at 1080p. I have a PS5 on the 1080p TV and doesn't matter which mode I put it on each mode displays 60 frames a second. The graphic mode looks a little better in the trees though.

Your mistaken my man, been playing the directors cut on Ps5 and the difference in visuals with the older-version( be it on Ps5 or Ps4pro) is Quiet considerable, the resolution is strong and apart from the frame rate and performance there some visual enhancements too. You mite just need a much better display for this and for all you future next-gen and titles, it matters.

I got it for PS4 pro, and played 20 hours or so and loved it. I'm having a hard time swallowing $69.99 for the PS5 version. Definitely want to pick it up eventually.

A classic game and a fantastic piece of art! My favorite from PS4 era. If you've never played it. Please do yourself a favor and experience this MASTER PIECE!!

I’m glad I’m playing my ps5 again since shortly after Returnal. I’m still a sucker for Legends, even if the single player is where it shines the most, the MP is just too dang good not to play like an ARPG.

Ghost of Tsushima, RDR2 and last of us part 2 are the greatest games in the last decade. Sucker punch need to develop a Star Wars game before I shit myself. Do not believe anyone who says the new controller is a gimmick. It changes the game experience entirely. Although I’d love if you could blow in the controller to activate the guiding wind. The amount of double takes I’ve made to snap my self back to reality because this game looks real is crazy… even on the base PS4 it looked decent.

Sadly they didn't add the super easy difficulty as seen in the PS4 version

The performance - mode should be replaced with a fidelity - option. Raytraced global illumination, better textures, even if this will cut the framerate in half. But it would be a better alternative than this now senseless bc-mode on PS5.

Dang, I just installed my ps4 disc on my new ps5 and was surprised to see the upgrade is $30. I see that it comes with some DLC and stuff, but Im not sure I can justify it. It feels a bit greedy to me. Now I see myself not playing the PS4 version because I know theres a better version out there, and I dont want to pay for that, so I just wont play the game at all! Mission accomplished devs!

You forgot about the haptic feedback triggers on the PS5 controller, also I played on a base PS4 and on PS5 I noticed fast travel was very fast, so fast that several times I sat there waiting wondering why it was taking so long to fast travel then I realized I had already fast traveled, fast traveled so fast I missed it. Game is a 9.5 out of 10, I knocked half a point off because there are so many beautiful places I want to go fishing but the game won't let me fish... The viligers get to fish but I can 🐠 I should at least be able to catch some bream

I could have upgraded for $30 on the PS5 since I own it for PS4 Pro, but similar to what I did for 4A Games with Metro Exodus & paid the full price to support the devs & have the physical copy.

I've been complaining about wanting 4k 60fps on the PS5! Thank the PS gods we got a game that actually does this! Ray tracing is nice on other games but give me 4k 60. Or 4k 120....
