He's most likely hearing tom and mark through the earplugs. And probably a click track too

Blink has been playing to a click and sometimes a backing track ever since they got back together in 2009.

I know it's 4 years too late, but for hearing protection too. Kinda hard to play in a band if you become deaf.

They’re wearing monitors. They can hear each other as well as a tempo track in the background and queues from the FOH
