I hear ya. I have been listening to them since just before Infestissumam and I honestly find myself listening to them constantly still. They crank out a great amount of new songs and they are diverse and there are SO MANY LAYERS to listen to. I could listen to their isolated bass tracks all day.

I love that he points to where the solo is happening so for once the producers actually put the right camera on screen during a solo instead of seeing a rhythm guitarist playing one chord.

I got into them just before they exploded with the Grammy they received for this song. They came to a small bar in Green Bay and played on a covered up volleyball court. The was no more than 1k people there. I’ll never forget it. I understand it’s very expensive but if you have the chance try to get a VIP experience for a show. Outside of a meet and greet you get cool backstage access and tons of signed merch. Definitely would recommend.

it's not true that every satanist is atheist; as acknowledging satan is also often an acknowledgement of there being a god whom satan exists in opposition to. Fucking AWESOME. Clearly they use some tracks (I hear a LOT of vocal layers, plus tympani, some keys etc), but I don't have a problem with that. The result is spectacular. The core band is playing, no doubt, it's not lip-synched. But you can't get the kind of grandeur and spectacle they reach for without some production. The end justifies the means. It is at once a beautiful song that calls to the heart, and heavy and menacing as fuck. Presented elegantly. Quite an achievement.

Obsessed with the reference to the practice of "slaying in the spirit" some Christian priests/pastors do to "heal" people. It works not only as a reference to that practice, but as a direct visual nod to the theme of someone being manipulated or being in a controlling/ abusive relationship. Going for the throat instead of the head or shoulders, as they usually do in the slaying ritual, while looming over her and looking her in the eyes is a very domineering move that shows he holds power over her and he knows it. Revels in it as a manipulative/abusive person does. It's just theatrically brilliant.

Even though it's unfortunate they had to cut 2 mins off this song to play it here. I really really really like how the chorus goes right into the solo 2:40. The build up is cool but I think it sounds better with that melodic solo coming right in.

Music-wise, I hear Metal and maybe even early Alice In Chains Dirt. Image-wise, they belong on an episode of American Horror! It's gimmick, but it works. I"m a punk/garage guitar player and catch myself listening to them, but more just to get freaked out by the imagery. They are on to something and most kids aren't old enough to remember King Diamond or even Kiss!
