In the Late 1970’s my friends parents bought a bungalow. The previous owner died of natural causes in the property. My friend, his parents and two younger sisters started to comment that footsteps could be heard in the house when only they were in. Also, if someone talked about the man who died ornaments would move. I considered this utter rubbish. Myself, my friend and his younger sister were watching the late night Hammer Horror film, during an interval I started talking about the strange foot steps and things moving; when a small vase on the pelmet above the sofa we were sat on flew across the room, then Christmas decorations started falling off the Christmas tree. We shut up then and started watching the film again. I defo believe in ghosts now. 👻

I experienced two totaly unrelated odd events. Once runnng past the site of an old pub, long gone by then, I suddenly ran into what i can only describe as a pocket of grief, I felt as though i was mourning a great loss, I stopped running and stood there a mo, totaly overwhelmed, I moved on and in a few yards i was out the other sode of the pubble of despair and felt absolutey fine. The point being that I wasn't greiving, all was good in my life, I was thinking on a work project that I love doing so wasn't unduly worrying, just strange. I'm sure there's a perfectly rational explanation for it but can only describe my feelings at the time. The nd was a part of a private block of apartments I used to live in. If you went down to the small neat and well lit carpark under the building, in one space at the back, behind the lift/elvator I used to get a genuine creepy sense of dread. Being the elctronics of the lift mechanism in that area I put the feeling down to infrasound but in all fairness I can't realy see the particular type of sound waves being created by the lift machinery, it was still there when off. Strange but there we have it.

Why would you think there is "a perfectly rational explanation for it" What you said isn't rational so why would you think there is a rational explanation.

Noisy Ghosts are possibly the most disconcerting & unwelcome, being so disruptive & destructive. My aunt had a poltergeist that followed her from house to house when I was growing up. She moved home several times, although my cousins reported that they heard frantic running around & doors slamming during the night, but were too scared to get out of bed.

The poltergeists in the leather goods and shoe shop remind me of the Grimm Bros fairy tale, the elves and the shoemaker. Makes one wonder if that was a similar origin to the fairy tale? Especially re the leather goods shop, when the activity ceased shortly after the poltergeist was acknowledged....

I use to live and do security at a bar that was over 120 years old. I witnessed at least 6 different ghosts that were cool. One was a young girl who kept switching my clocks back. But we did have an angry ghost that lived in basement A that threw boxes and glasses around. Turns out the mob killed a guy they thought was a rat and put his body in a barrel and filled it with Vinegar. That was in the 1920s and in 1973 they discovered the body and took the barrel away. Well my boss hated him (I called him Vinnie short for vinegar) and had an idea. He bought a barrel ( wood ) and put it in that room. The throwing stopped and the cold feeling was gone as well.

So glad you enjoyed the video and found it interesting. Glad it connected with your experience last month. Next time you’re in the Burlington Arcade look above the shops and there is a little passageway with a cross cross structure in front of it. It runs the length above the shops and apparently when wealthy folks bought items, the bags would be passed to children in the upper rafters who’d run them to the awaiting carriages at either end of the arcade. Thanks again for your kind words 👻👻

Whatever was in my house actually liked me. Almost a decade and a half ago my now ex wife was out for the evening and I was home with my son, between feeding him and making myself dinner I burned the fried rice I was making, onto the bottom of a cast iron pan. There were dishes in the sink so I filled the pan up with water to hopefully soften up the burnt on crust of rice and put the pan on a cold stove burner. I then got my son ready for bed. About a half hour later I returned to the kitchen and the cast iron pan was spotless and dry on the stove. Another time at my house, at a party, some friends were outside, and a wine glass shot across the table then flipped over spilling the wine all over my friend. I personally didn’t witness that, but about a half a dozen people did.

That shoe story!! Thank you, I love your channel. Yes, I have experience. I grew up in a house in foothills above Los Angeles. Our family told ghost stories as a matter of course, but I never saw or heard anything. My older sisters were extremely sensitive and each person had one room they disliked. One sister, living in the guesthouse, even asked a medium to come up and tell us what was about. She said that the ghost was a woman named Marion or Miriam, had lived in our guesthouse, and was the mother-in-law of a previous owner. The house had a basement that extended to a little cubbyhole storage unit up next to the dirt under the foundation. I lived in the basement. One night at dinner my mother said excitedly: I heard the ghost today! I was down in your room, and I heard someone walking upstairs, there was nobody home. Without thinking I said, "There's always someone upstairs when you're downstairs." They all turned to look at me. Cold shivers ran up my spine as I remembered countless times I would hear the entire family stomp down the back stairs, gun up the cars and roar out the driveway, and then in the hot summer silence that softer, measured tread upstairs. After I knew what it was, I never heard it again. (I think I shared this experience on another of your fine videos, if so, I apologize for repeating myself- but it's all I've got!)

Thank you for sharing your story. That's brilliant. Interesting that your family seemed quite accepting and sensitive to the things that were being experienced. One day I'll share a story that linked to a friend I had when I was younger; it's got some aspects of yours here but something really weird happened in her house! Los Angeles strikes me as a place with so many stories. Laurel Canyon and Benedict Canyon especially have some interesting stories. Thank you again and thank you for your kind words; I am so pleased you love the channel and there's more to come ;-0

Only one spooky thing possibly related to a poltergeist happened in front of me when a light bulb 💡 exploded in my mum’s face - I ran to look & felt something walk through me. The same night close to the same spot in the hallway, I saw a transparent black cloud for a brief second or two. Other things happened but that was the only physical thing. Noises - footsteps and banging and clattering occurred but never actually saw much going on.

Hi Nicola.. once again, I truly enjoyed this video. As I've mentioned before, your voice and story telling skills for this kind of subject is just perfect. I absolutely loved this video. Poltergeist phenomenon is nothing new to me... the way it has been described in this video. I think that's why I found this video, as well as many of your others, so fascinating. I often look at things in my house and I swear that they are not where I left them. I am person who has OCD.. obsessive compulsive disorder, so I am meticulous in where I put things, and how I arrange things. Well, sometimes, I just notice that things are not where I've left them, and I end up being very spooked by it. Poltergeist ? I really don't know.. but definitely odd. I've spent most of my adult life trying to figure it out. But again, Bravo.. wonderful video. Looking forward to your next one tomorrow or Saturday 😊 btw, I hope the digging and drilling stops soon thats going on around your house. Where I live in Barrie, just North of Toronto, Ontario, it's been non stop construction on my street this summer so far

Hi James and many thanks. That is very odd about what might be poltergeist activity that you mentioned. It’s interesting that you can assess it in relation to your OCD that you mentioned. They’ve stopped digging up the road just for a few days, I think but they have no schedule or regular hours that they stick to. I am pretty sure I went to Barrie many years ago and I watched Alanis Morrisette in concert in a great big field. I’m sure it was Barrie. I was staying in Toronto on Bloor and Bathurst if I remember, and we had to catch a bus to the concert. It was fun except for the mosquitoes! 👻🙋‍♀️🙏

I worked in a bank in Rye, East Sussex in the late 1980's. I was in the vault with a co-worker and friend and we could hear carts going over the cobble streets and talking from a lot of people. We both looked at each other. The road that ran alongside the bank was a quiet one and the sound was definitely a cart not a car - and we both knew that their was never more than one or two people walking up it. The sound was of at least 2 dozen people. Many people working in the bank had heard the same thing.

@Dagrdottir
@Dagrdottir 4 ай бұрын
Sorry to be so late in replying< I am moving about a lot at the moment and not able to get computer access in some places. The building is very old. The mermaid inn in a nearby road dates back to the 12 century. I dont think the bank was that old, more likely 17th century at a guess. It was listed though because we had to have the porch repaired and reduced as it kept getting hit by lorries on the narrow high street and they had to get permission to alter it. I think the sounds of the carts going on the cobbled streets was a snapshot of a different time rather than an actual haunting. It was so clear - you could hear the horses hooves on the cobbles and everything. There are so many Ghosts in Rye which is a tiny magically spooky place with a very dickensian look to it. A couple of the local girls I worked would not go down Turkey Cock Lane as they said it was haunted by a monk who was bricked up alive after running off with a young lady. The mermaid in is haunted by duelling cavaliers and there is a haunted room you can rent. Really interesting place with an incredible amount of hauntings for it's size.
