Way back in 2017 my father and I took a trip to Tuscon for his work. Were from London and it was like a different planet. On one of the days we went to Kitt Peak and ended up in Arivaca and after some seaching we came across Duquesne. It was one of the most surreal experiences of my life. It was like time stood still while we were there. One of the best memories I have. Arizona is a beautiful place.

In the town of Loquillo that you guys pass there was an old Quansett hut from probably the 1940s 50s do you know what that was used for? If you’ve ever seen reruns of Gomer Pyle USMC you will notice they’re the same structures that house Marines for Barricks living.

Next time we pass through I’ll investigate further! Very interesting…Amazing how many (very old) graves in the cemetery in Duquesne were military graves. Felt like traveling in time.

Duquesne is pronounced Dukane, French

Yeah I have since learned I totally botched Duquesne, but dang I don’t know how anyone would ever know to pronounce it ducain! Haha!
