What are you using to seal the manufacturers bolt holes for the mounting bracket? I installed mine and now I can’t stop water from coming in through those holes, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Nice review. How has it held up over the last year. Debating btw this and a used iKamper mini. For about the same price. (~$1500). Did the stargazer window ever clear up?
@tacojeepadventures17 күн бұрын
The tent itself was great - we ended up getting a trailer and an even larger tent. The people that bought this one from us love it! Unfortunately that window never cleared up.

Nice video dude 👊🫡 Looking at the same set up. I have the cbi light ditch light brackets do you think those ones will work with this snorkel? And just curious but have you notice any performance differences since install? Again thanks for all the work done and providing the video for us all. Cheers 🍻 dude
@tacojeepadventures17 күн бұрын
No they are too big. Ended up going with a very low profile ditch light bracket. Not too much of a difference really. More noticeable when it’s really hot out to get the cooler air.

I am planning to do the same. That will free up so much clearance. That is one of the most reoccurring hangups I see on all the trail rides I lead. I’ve gotten by more due to higher clearance with 35’s but I still tag it here and there also.

Way back in 2017 my father and I took a trip to Tuscon for his work. Were from London and it was like a different planet. On one of the days we went to Kitt Peak and ended up in Arivaca and after some seaching we came across Duquesne. It was one of the most surreal experiences of my life. It was like time stood still while we were there. One of the best memories I have. Arizona is a beautiful place.

warmest regards from Italy Florence a question about the snorkel I see many snorkels on many off-road vehicles that have the air intake turned towards the rear of the 4x4 off-road vehicle and does anyone have the air intake turned towards the front of the 4x4 off-road vehicle? (and Do any 4x4 off-road vehicles have a cyclone like an agricultural or earthmoving machine?) Christmas 2023 from Italy Florence!)
@tacojeepadventures7 ай бұрын
Hello! The reason to turn the snorkel backwards would be if you were going out in a snow storm, very heavy rain, or plan to really splash through some deeper water. I keep mine forward facing for better airflow on the roads. Here in the desert, we don’t have much inclement weather and rarely get snow so no need to worry about turning the snorkel around. I have actually considered the cyclone that you speak of, as it acts as a precleaner to keep even more dust and debris from entering the air box. (The roads out here in the desert are extremely dusty) It also will keep any snow or water from entering the snorkel. To me the biggest reason for the snorkel is to get cleaner cooler air through to the engine for better performance especially here in arizona where summer temperatures can be over 100 degrees for months. The Jeep performs better in the hotter weather than it did before the snorkel. Merry Christmas from AZ USA!

Hey nice looking set up! So I am planning on doing something similar. Did you pre drill a pilot hole into the joist and your boards? If so, did you drill a smaller pilot hole than the lag screw? And does your eye bolts go through and into the joist as well?
@tacojeepadventures8 ай бұрын
Thanks! It has really been awesome to have this. I did drill a smaller pilot hole for everything installed. For the eye screws you can use a screwdriver or metal rod through the “eye” to help you tighten it. I’ve had myself and another adult hang on the 200 lb tent while suspended and it doesn’t budge. Very strong. The eye screws do not go into the joist. Hope this helps!

Thanks for a great video. Useful. Love the Diamondback. And intrigued by your new rack on top of it. A question though, a bit of a tangent. I see you have a rack on top of the cab. I've seen crossbars as well as cage type racks above pickup cabs, but I've never seen popup tents above the pickup cabs. Do you know, could a cross bar or other type of rack system above a pickup cab, I'm considering one of the F150's, but could a cab roof support a pop up tent, say a iKamper 3 mini or say a Roofnest Sparrow2, both closed while driving, but also stationary and open with one or two adults sleeping in it? Assuming it could be done without killing the average mpg, I'd much prefer a pop up tent above the cab so as to have maximum use of the Diamondback cover, being able to open both ends. Any idea, any thought? Thanks.
@tacojeepadventures8 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment and feedback! I have seen many trucks run roof racks with “roof top tents” such as an ikamper mini 3 - so likely an ok approach although you may get some drag and wind noise. I prefer it over the bed personally and another option if you want to consider this route (I have a detailed video on how I did it on this channel) is by installing a winch / pulley system in your garage to remove / install the tent when in use or not in use. This allows me to use the diamondback cover (I can open one side at a time) as intended. It’s also nice to not carry around the extra weight of the tent. Hope this helps!

What fits a 2020 Tacoma 4x4 Ted pro 5ft bed? Thanks
@tacojeepadventures8 ай бұрын
This truck is a 5’ bed and this is the larger of the 2 sizes of this tent. I believe it is the medium. The outside of the shell measures 75” in length. It does overhang the end of the truck bed but because of the tire carrier, I this it looks okay. The extra room to fit the fam is a huge plus!

Thank you for the video. Can you see the turn signals standing from the back of the vehicle? The only reason why am asking is because with the original ones if you stand behind the vehicle, you could actually see the turn signals on the mirrors.
