It's easy to forget that the actors don't get to see the final product until roughly the same time as us - the editing and SFX don't happen until long after they "clock out" and their part of the production is finished. Their reactions to seeing the fruits of their hard work for the first time like this is extra special for that reason.

Those are the kid/young actors movies need. The humble, dedicated and excited for their project. Many movies try new actors but put them above Classic actors or they feel they are above them. But no, this is the way, they have to win it and built them little by little.

Jason Reitman required that everyone involved with this be a fan of the original movie. He wanted to be sure that everybody cared about it doing justice to the spirit of the first film.

Between the wardrobe/makeup and her amazing acting, I'm still having a hard time connecting the actor with the character lol. After seeing the kids at the NYCC panel, I'm greatly looking forward to seeing all of them in more projects.

Literally the dream of every kid who loves something lol. I love how she (and the rest of the kids too) seems to be genuinely excited and grateful to be a part of this movie. They recognize what a privilege and honor it is and so far have been very respectful and mindful of the fans and the opportunity.

@@Dargonhuman Well yeah. They film and the only thing they see is a guy holding up a stick with a picture of Slimer on it. No music. No sound effects. No CGI. They know they're parts of the movie and the main of the story but to see it all put together is entirely something else and having been a part of that, makes it all the much more special for her to see her efforts on the big screen. We all knew she was going to be a huge star cause she's so adorable. Now that she's acted in a Ghostbusters movie, she'll forever be a part of Pop Culture history of successful child stars along with Drew Barrymore, Emma Watson and the lil Angel we lost way too soon, Heather O'rourke

I've been watching a lot of BTS content related to the movie, and it's very clear everyone involved are fans and this was a passion project for all of them. Adam Savage's Tested channel has been showing how much love the cast and crew have for the originals, and that's giving a lot of us hope that it will be a good movie that's actually worthy to be called Ghostbusters.

I love this! Remember, she's probably only seen things from a BTS stage viewpoint, she wouldn't even know which one of her many takes of each line the director chose, let alone all the finished effects and everyone else's scenes!

100% correct, anyone asking why she's acting like she's just seeing it for the first time it's because she is seeing it for the first time. She may not even have been around when some scenes were filmed or when certain "classic GB" actors had their parts filmed.

Basically every actor in any movie only gets to see this film for the first time (and with context) during the premiere. Same with Dubbing Actors. The only ones seeing it before the premiere are the director, the editor, the producer and the studio execs.

Exactly right. It's easy to forget that the actors have already finished their part of the production and "clocked out" long before the final editing and effects are added because they're so closely associated with the project.

Thank you all for saving Ghostbusters- the last one was so terrible I was so sad what they had done to our beloved movie franchise. You all fixed it. I literally cried at the end!! Her reactions are everything! I think we as movie viewers forget that actors are probably more surprised by their own trailers and movies as they see them from a unique point of view -- not just behind the camera, but in a non-chronological sequence due to the nature of filming. And they also do it without SFX and are mired in the technicalities of filmmaking. So to see her genuinely giddy about the film, brings an immense smile to my face. Can't wait!

I did love that bit and it's really cool that they upgraded their tech even after people stopped seeing ghosts. It's just I can't help but think how amazing that moment would have been had we seen it for the first time in the movie. In the international trailer they show how the chair first gets activated and it looks like they hit the switch by accident the first time. I think in the movie they want it to play as a cool reveal to the audience. It'll still be good but I think it would've been a nice surprise.

I hate going to theaters (to be fair, I hated that long before the pandemic) but this one I actually want to make the effort to go see. The best part is I usually have Sunday and Mondays off so there shouldn't be too many people when I go.

She should be really proud. I just saw the movie in IMAX and while everyone was important, Phoebe was the heart of the film. If she wouldn't have been so freakin' adorable the movie wouldn't have worked as well. I would love to have a daughter that's a nerdy bad-ass. Best combination, lol. Podcast was cute too, but at times he kind of annoyed me, but if I had a son like him I won't complain, he's cool too, haha. But yah, Phoebe definitely was the heart of the film, no offense to everyone else.

I'm an 80's kid and an Original Ghostbusters fan. I was sad we never truly got a third movie in the franchise but this movie definitely looks like a worthy addition to the Ghostbusters franchise and I'm glad to see the kids and especially McKenna Grace becoming Ghostbusters. So good to see Ecto-1 running again. But the question is.....why is it Ecto-1 and not Ecto-1A from Ghostbusters II? Did Egon have a duplicate in case the original was damaged?

Keep in mind that this is the first time she is seeing any of the visual effects, action scenes and different moments from the camera’s point of view. she hasn’t seen the film and has the same emotions as everyone else.

Or the same way others who knew the parent would refer to them as well. I think deep down we all wished Egon & Janine got hitched but something makes me think they didn't, I don't think she would have left New York. Guess we'll have to wait and see. ;)
