Ghostbusters Day 2024 At The Ghostbusters Firehouse In New York City - The 40th Anniversary of Ghostbusters (1984) celebration at the Ghostbusters HQ FDNY Hook & Ladder 8. The Iconic filming location in Tribeca! Ghostbusters special guests The Alessi Brothers playing “Savin The Day” from the Ghostbusters soundtrack right on the sidewalk. Actors from the film Joe Cerillo and Jon Rothman signing autographs! It was such and amazing and magical day for thousands of Ghostbusters fans and Ghostheads.
Special thanks to the Buffalo Ghostbusters and FDNY Ladder 8.

The NYC portion of 'Ghostbusters' was filmed over a six week period beginning in late October 1983 and finishing before Christmas. They wanted to keep to this schedule not only for budgetary reasons, but they needed to complete it before the weather would likely take a turn for the worse because a lot of the film was shot in outdoor locales.

I always wanted to go to NY, most of my family is from Jersey so, they don't really care for "the city". They rather enjoy coming out here to SoCal. I just always get this fun feeling anytime I see NY. As if it's like a melting pot of creativity and love. From Artists to, well... Films. It just seems like a fun place to live for creatives. However, others think the same way about LA and let me tell you.... It's definitely NOT what you think.

I always enjoy your videos Tampa Jay. I’ve got to tell you though this video is absolutely my favorite one that you’ve filmed! I enjoyed this one so much and honestly found myself bobbing my head during the music portion. I’m a Ghostbusters fan but this video really ignited a new appreciation for this film. Such a cool celebration! I remember when we went to see Ghostbusters at a movie theater. My husband, 6-year-old son, and I were living in Ocala but often drove up to Gainesville to hangout at Morningside Nature Center and the O'Connell Center at UF. On our way home towards I-75 we saw a theatre marquee for Ghostbusters. My husband and I were movie buffs and wanted to go but were afraid it would be too scary for our 6-year-old. After all, he had gotten upset during the Wrath of Khan when he was younger. But he said his friends told him it was not too scary, so we went. We all loved it. It was not our favorite movie of that era however. That would be Back to the Future, and its sequels.

One of the original ectos is from bay village Ohio. My late father worked with the owner. When they were done filming he kept everything on it and drove it around in parades. That was over 30 years ago so I'm not sure where it is anymore.

In 1994 I went to that Titanic pier there was nothin there but old wood pilings then wierd because my ma who passed 2013 said we had ties t those people met a lady in Iowa my aunt cousin of my dad who was a baby survivor spent the afternoon with her in 95 and well live and learn
