I will NEVER hate this movie. Afterlife was a good tearjerker at the end, seeing Harold Ramis' ghost coming back to help. You can't beat the Orginal.

I don't know why people thought this was a bad movie. I still think it's a good movie. It made me laugh, had a cool villain and soundtrack was great as well. It definitely did have some problems here and there and some things could have easily been fixed, but overall, it's a satisfying sequel. It's still worlds above the 2016 ghostbusters.

People say it's not as good as the first, and maybe it has some issues, but sorry, lady liberty walking through the city as a symbol of hope used to dismiss all the negative evils and crash the dome so the Ghostbusters could save the day is one of my favourite moments in movie history

Being a kid of the late 90s, I didn’t get to appreciate this when it came out, but thankfully I am the youngest in a family of movie lovers so I was raised on classics. My dad said around the time I was watching this in 02 or 03, people liked it way more since 9/11 had recently occurred, gave a new perspective and showed much needed community

The subway tunnel scene with the scary voice that called Winston's name & the dead heads on spikes scared the snot out of me when I first saw this movie back in the day when it first came out & I was only 8 years old at the time. The ghost train in that same scene on the other hand was cool because I've liked trains ever since I was little.

The scene of the Statue of Liberty appearing is just brilliant. I can remember when this film was released in the UK in winter 1989. Simultaneously the long awaited Back to the Future II came out. 1989 was a big year for films. 🎞 🎥

@@NH1973 Yeah it was huge & so were my posters on the walls of my little box room in London. Batman, Rambo III, Coming to America, Ghostbusters II. This sequel is very good. It was as if the film releases of 1989 encapsulated all that was the 1980s in a 1 year cycle. I would get free posters from the local newsagents that had a video rental business. 😊

As a kid in the 5th grade at my elementary school in Indiana i will never forget the first time a had to date one of my assignments with the year "1990" I just sat there and stared at if for a moment and my heart was filled with sadness because it meant the 1980s were over....then and there I knew that something wonderful had come to an end and that the world would never be the same or as good as it had been in the past....how right I was! The 1990s were okay....but they were never as fun or as special as the 1980s...... Rip 1980s you are truly missed.

Yeah to be fair he did contribute and hitting the other side couldn't hurt even if it was miniscule there's no telling that could have been their one shot at getting out if they weren't able to get up. One proton pack on it's own is still nuclear and VERY powerful.

2 had a lot of scary and funny memorable scenes than 1. The first movie only had terror dogs, possessed Lana and scary Gozer for one minute. And all of this happens only last 30 minutes of the movie. But second one had a proper story build-up.

Re-watching 1 and 2, I've learned my appreciation for over powered villains started with these movies. Something like Gozer or Vigo being nearly un-phased by the proton packs and requiring a special method of fighting is a super fun trope. Props to them making Vigo look as barbaric as his background makes him out to be, Actor has some god tier expressions.

He helped. Think about it. His presence outside, blasting at the slime, gave the people hope. That raised their spirits even more, which weakened the slime even more.

I just wish they had the streams wrap around him rather than just disappear. It would make the final moment make all the more sense, the streams holding his floating head in place while Winston drowns him in good slime

The Ghostbusters I love the most. Proton streams are much more realistic than in the first installment in 1984, which was definitely not a minor detail for a kid spending his afternoons building proton packs! Can't wait to see the long-needed, third Ghostbusters in a few weeks

He didn't want to possess a baby/child like in The Omen, Rosemarys Baby or The Exorcist, he wanted the body and soul OF a baby to use as a conduit to merge with, and in doing so it would damn the child's soul to hell.
