I've actually been in vape study for 10 years and from the data collected from 10k people in the study the vapers health was equal to non-smokers and people who quit smoking and vaped 8-10 years the lungs are fully clear of all tar and any damage was healed with no adverse effects on the lungs from vaping. They want to continue the study for another 10 years. I'm very thankful that vaping was able to help me quit smoking. I'm sure it's added years back to my life. I started smoking at 13 quit at 41 , had vaping not been an option I'd still be smoking today and after seeing the x-rays and mri of my lungs I'm so glad I was able to quit my lungs were almost black from all the tar. Now they're nice and clean.

My personal experience- I was roughly a 1 1/2 pack a day smoker for YEARS and I started smoking regularly when I was about 15. I was about 37 when I had to quit because I started waking up at 3/4 am coughing up a lung and it wouldn't stop for about an hour and half. I switched to vaping (Juul) and I don't cough at all anymore aside from the occasional seasonal allergies (42 now). Doc always says my lungs sound good and clear and he knows I vape nicotine AND thc.
