David Dastmalchian"s production company is the one with the stop-motion animation. I think that shows exactly what kind of horror fan he is, and I love it. This movie is amazing, and David is an icon. "Lilly" is iconic, as well. She also stole the show.

I really enjoyed this flick, as an 80’s kid who watched a lot of 70’s reruns it was a fun nostalgia trip with a great payoff at the end. I also saw the face in her hair 😈

I really enjoyed this movie (and your reaction)! They did use some AI generated images (backdrops, I think?) and it's unfortunate but hopefully the backlash will deter filmmakers in the future from doing this again. I know the budget was limited so that probably played a role in the choice to use it. A lot of people were underwhelmed by the ending but I thought it worked. It would have been equally cool if he was trapped in a purgatory of eternally hosting the second-best rated late night talk show but being tricked into killing a child on national television was pretty gnarly. 🖤

Yes, absolutely. I think filmmakers will need to be more careful with HOW they use AI in the future because I don't think this will go away. As for the ending, my take was that HE was the sacrifice all along. Abraxis tricked him into believing he was going to be a success only to make him out to be the villain all along. His wife was just collateral damage.

Personally I don't have an issue either, I just wished they used the generated images as a basis rather than straight-up using them. Some minor editing to the images would have made them look less obviously AI. But I'll give it a pass because I like the movie!
