The acting of the little girls is the only redeeming quality of this movie. They were excellent.

This movie is basically "no matter if you introduce familiar characters or elements, it doesnt equal capturing the atmosphere"

The fact that Catherine father fell for the trick blew me neither parent was supposed to choose between any one of them when the two girls said pick me that was demon telling them to let him take the soul of one of the girls whoever was chosen and Catherine father jus couldn’t take the heat in the kitchen hell he wasn’t even in the house during most of the exorcist idk I enjoyed it if anything it was a crazy plot twist

I really value a reaction that isn't inherently positive from reaction channels, it's really refreshing to see honesty

More than anything, this movie was frustrating. It’s truly a waste of great acting talent (the girls REALLY sell their roles), they treat the returning character of Chris with blatant disrespect and it all falls apart when she enters the picture. Because they actually do a really great job of setting up the story! Unfortunately it’s all downhill from there. And for what we expect from an Exorcist movie, it’s neither shocking or scary.

I was disappointed that it turned out bad. The girls looked awesome on the posters and in the trailer but it seems like the movie was probably better on paper than in execution.

This is one of the movies I most regret spending time seeing in theaters. I was hoping for so much more! Sadly, I should’ve known not to trust the director that gave us Halloween Ends 😢

I'd choose to save my wife too. Our kid hasn't been born yet and as much as it sucks, we can always make another kid. I only have one of my wife. There's only one of her. Call me selfish or whatever, but if I was put into that very tough situation, that would be my way of thinking I think so I can't blame him for his choice.

I will never understand just blind hatred for a movie (reading the comments), nothing will be better or same quality as the old school exorcist. However, they used practical effects and makeup, check, they had a full costume of the devil but only showed in a flash, blink it and miss it moment, check, they actually showed the on screen deaths which were off screen in the original, check. They finally did another exorcist movie with children, check. This had a lot of things going right. Is it still a mediocre movie? Yes. But it's no way near as bad as people say it is. Honestly don't think 90% of the commentators even watched this movie, only this reaction. The other 9 or so exorcists between the original and this one was worse.

I wanted to like this movie, but once again, David Gordon Green never fails at having good scripts but always doesn't know how to end a movie😂😂😂 and I'm happy Blumhouse fired him before the next 2 sequels. Hopefully, they can save this trilogy. 3.5/10 for me. This movie was not better then The Exorcist 3. It's bad that this movie wasn't as good as the 2nd Exorcist movie bc that's the weakest of the 4 movies. No la vi y nunca sentí siquiera intriga pero reconozco que todo esto fue motivado por mi apego a la trilogía original. Ahora, personas que sí vieron la película confirmaron mi mal presentimiento y honestamente tratar de revivir la esencia de algo tan grande nunca será sencillo.

I don’t think the movie was horrible but they could’ve made it a little bit better. It was almost like it was rushed and not well thought out. I guess there is supposed to be 2 more chapters to this and if so, I hope the director makes them better but because this movie didn’t receive the best ratings who knows if they continue with the series

I recently went to see "Silent night" in the cinema, and a thought crossed my mind that it's money poorly spent, but then I remembered I also gave money to watch this movie, and I thought: "Nah, Silent night is good. At least they gave me a complete story. It's not like it's The exorcist: Believer. THAT ONE was money poorly spent!".

It’s the 3rd best Exorcist. I wasn’t blown away but it was fine. I had just watched Serpent and the Rainbow when I first saw it so I appreciated the Haitian voodoo vibe.

I actually enjoyed this one for the most part. It is very generic as a possession film, it isn't mean spirited or impactful like the original is though and as Exorcist legacy sequel, it could have been better. But for what the movie is... I enjoyed it. I think both the girls did a great job, the nurse is the standout for me (her first scene yelling at him about the trash can annoyed me though lol), I loved the Amber Alert part of the movie, I loved the dad and his storyline, and I think its a good starting point for a trilogy. I'm curious to see where they take it next.

nah save my baby tf. so i don't like the exorcist, the original one for sure, when i was a kid i was supposed to be in bed sleeping, but i was crouched on the side of the couch, and the part with her head came on and i got up, ran screaming, and crying to my mom. i won't watch the original movie all the way till this day, and i'm 32. i love horror movies, they're my favorite, but not the original exorcist, i don't like hereditary either, i don't like clowns, but i've seen all the IT movies, the original and the remakes, i'll watch those before i watch the exorcist. i thought this one was gonna be like that and more scarier, but it wasn't, i felt cringey on some parts, and i kept telling myself that i wasn't gonna watch it cause i don't like the exorcist movies, but just like the new evil dead movie, i thought it was gonna be really scary, but still the 2013 evil dead will by far be the best one. i didn't even watch the movie on peacock, i watched it through here with your guys reaction lol. so you're telling me that they saved her in the beginning just to save her again, and kill the other girl? wtf.
