Speaking of similarities in design/concept, someone on the Hasbro Joe team's gotta be a GalaxyQuest (who isnt?!) fan because that device on his belts a GQ communicator. Maybe he had a switcheroo w/ a Cobra like TimAllen did w/ JustinLong's character "Brandon". Like ole Chucky went to tell Duke about some Cobra plan they were trying to hatch & his proof was the commincator, but RATS! it was the wrong one. Comedy gold.

I don’t think it’s literally supposed to be sound wave or a transformer like you said I think they just did it for fun but some people are taking it very seriously and acting like it’s part of the little story that’s going on with the artwork and making all this stuff up …..until I’m told otherwise from someone at Hasbro confirms this and they directly say yes that is a transformer and they are keeping an eye on what’s going on I’m just assuming it was just a funny little Easter egg thing they did

Jada toys should take inspiration from this figure, and perhaps produce an alternate shit kicked head, accessory pack!
