I was in the Navy so Shipwreck's uniform and overall character vibes with me for many reasons. Lot's of memories from watching the 80's cartoon also,

I just got this figure and love it...pure Nostalgia. A shame it doesnt have a file card. As a kid i always remembered his name as Hector Delgado...puerto rican. It was like a real persons name and bio. This has no info on the back!

The file card is something many of us have been complaining about and Hasbro just can’t seem to figure out a way to do it. I mean, it shouldn’t be too hard since they own all the original file cards and bios 🤷🏻‍♂️

Thanks for the review! Despite not having a boot cut, he does have the upper thigh swivel so you could pose him a little more dynamically. So not all is lost in that regard.

I disagree, unless it’s a cartoon colored figure. The O-Rings and comic books didn’t use them.

Shipwreck's ankles rotate at the top under the jeans to compensate the lack of a shin swivel ;)

You are correct and thank you. I didn’t realize that but checked it after you said something. I will try and remember to mention that on the next livestream as they do articulate better than the Valaverse pants that are like that.

It actually looks good on camera. The pictures they had on the promos gave me some level of disappointment. Now my nitpicks are gone. Good review.

Ok… I’ll be that guy. It’s a boarding pistol, which to me gives Shipwreck a little personality as a Naval history buff. Try putting the hook in the back the way you had the rope it fits more naturally. Also while he doesn’t have your regular boot cut, he does still have one at the top of his boot under his pants. It doesn’t give a huge amount of movement, but it does give you a bit more.

Hello from Brazil! Gi-Joe classified is the best series, look in teh front the detailed faded jeans, it is not bad pinture is proposital. Amazing figure, maybe even better than Spirit.

Just picked this up from Walmart for 8$ today. Not bad. Wouldn't ever pay full price for any of the new Joe stuff. They think they're freakin The Black Series. LOL.

So theres nothing gummy about the figure? Thats good. I got him to be the driver for my Action force boat (aka the fortnight boat). Somebody had him for a few dollars off so I'll be glad to get him sometime this week. Otherwise I'm not really impressed with what you get for the retail price. I belive the musket pistol is supposed to be a "classy" flare/signals pistol. Something that used to be very common in many navies for communication. The pistol is nice. I'm thinking of dry brushing some gold paint and a black wash to bring out the engraving/scrool work on the gun. As to the hook I kinda wish they just molded it on the rope. I think I might just put some e6000 on it and glue it on the rope. That way could probably remove it later if I had to without damaging it. That face looks pretty good. I've seen some pics on the web where it looks pretty terrible. I hope I don't geta bad one. 😂😂

He's pretty awesome. Definitely one of my old faves. I remember specifically collecting every figure that came with an animal 😂 can you do a Pic of your o-ring figures following him like ducklings? 😜

I do like Shipwreck (has black hair and a full black beard), and I like the character he *possibly* replaced - Torpedo (one of the 1983 characters); I like Torpedo’s more definite replacement character - Wet-Suit (from 1986, 3 years post-1983) [Shipwreck made his debut in 1985, 2 years post-1983]. Most of all, does anyone concur with me, that Hasbro should merely have settled on THIS version of Shipwreck, and *never* did the version from 1994? Additionally, I like how Shipwreck could survive without Polly (as I don’t like the animals that came with figures).

Why did Hasbro cheap out on this line lol the Elbows don't match since the Falcon wave, and they really stand out... Dreading how Buzzer and Ripper will look :s

Well Hasbro’s bottom like is making money and they is probably a cost measure. Not I don’t really even notice the elbow other than that people point them out, but I believe Bobby Vala discussed why he thought this was happening on the 3POA. He believes is has to do with using a different and harder plastic for the elbows and then just not going and matching the paint up perfectly with the plastic 🤷🏻‍♂️

@@Apunkwithtoys To me and why I dropped the line lol they moved to a cheaper factory Falcon wave onwards and it shows, they seem to use the same "disc" for all so its the same color no matter what, Outback normal release stands out as does Copperhead < 3 different skin tones and Retro StormShadow, Sorry but killing costs in a line you own and don't pay fees is just gouging, Jada can manage it while offering more stuff in the box at a lower price aswell in their SF line. Marvel Legends doesn't have this problem on their pin-less figures.... Nor Masterverse stuff.

I blame the problems with China and overall global inflation for the cost cutting. I miss the days when the 3 1/4 inch posable figures were $2.00 each.

@@shangchi828 Really? Marvel Legends doesn't have this problem. Motu masterverse doesn't lol even Valaverse can match colors and Jada toys... this is a Hasbro thing on its own brand.

Great video. I didn't know I wanted Shipwreck until I seen this review. I would see him on the shelf at the Walmart on my various trips to the store. I finally decided to buy him with him being the only available GI Joe figure in stock. The box was literally covered in dust 😅 due to it being on the shelf so long. Got'em at a $9.00 mark down. 🤑⬇️
