Yeah me too. In fact that’s how most of these type of movies back then looked a bit sharper when I was a kid. I could have sworn when I first saw it as well so many times after it looked so much more sharp and detailed than it does now when you see it.

Honestly, in my eyes the animation holds up. It’s a 45 minute DVD from 2004 that came with toys. I bet the budget was low and the crunch was high, and for that it’s actually not bad. Just remember that the Jimmy Neutron movie got nominated for an Oscar, and it doesn’t look too far from this.

The sword was a special one that only could be drawn by one who was pure of motive and moved by selflessness.. or something to that effect. That's why he could draw it to save Snake Eyes and Jinx.. but not when he was bragging on himself against Storm Shadow

The animation is so goofy and swooshy 😂 I’m sure it must have been a conscious choice. I love how the character models look just like the old figures. Classic Hasbro and their disguised toy commercials.

I just noticed that Snake Eyes blocks a number of Storm Shadow’s attacks with the backside of his ninjato. I remember reading somewhere that medieval swordsmen blocked with the flat of their blades rather than the edge, I suppose to avoid damaging the sword.

I have to agree the running is lamely animated, but the tiny thing that bothers the cr*p out of me is that katana do NOT have ROUND HILTS!! they look childish like that! You'd think the animators that design the swords would've done some research on that... geez. (sorry for the rant) ;P
