"Best Served Cold", "The Heroes" and "Red Country" are not a trilogy, but rather standalone novels in the world of the First Law. I haven't read the latter two yet, but "Best Served Cold" is my favorite book by Joe Abercrombie so far, among the best fantasy books I've ever read and the second best revenge story I've ever read (just a sliver behind Alexandre Dumas' "The Count of Monte Cristo").

Gunmetal Gods sounds interesting. Those are some nice cosmere novellas! I have yet to read any John Gwynne and I know I need to. I have a feeling I will love his books. What a wonderful book haul!

I have a bad habit of waiting too long for book hauls too and then it’s overwhelming and exhausting 🫠 Some super pretty books in here! That Gollancz edition is so gorgeous 🤯 glad the broken binding are come out with their own set because Gollancz doesn’t ship to the US 😭

Ugh why do we do this to ourselves?? hahah It shoudl be joyful! Not stressful.... Noooo not Gollancz leaving the US high and dry 😭 TBB sets are looking good thus far! I love that they kept the original covers.

Honestly, what would we do without Broken Binding?! 🤣🤩 Truly drooling over all of these beautiful books! And gosh, I need to read Gunmetal Gods so badly!! Also, I am keeping all my toes and fingers crossed for new Gentleman Bastards content soon, I need it more than I need air to breathe lol 🥲

Amazing haul, so many gorgeous books! You’ve renewed my excitement for Gunmetal Gods, and I’ll definitely have to check out a Song for the Void as well. The LitJoy editions of SoC are so pretty! I’m gutted they sold out before I could get a copy, hoping they do a reprint sometime

Thank you!! :) It doesn't hold a candle to your collection, but I think we both have similar tastes for pretty things 🤣 When you're in the mood for something dark, both of those will definitely scratch that itch! Oh noooooo. They very well might since they sold well 👀

All of these books look amazing! Thank you for showing them! You seem to own a lot of Broken Binding editions, which all look great. How do the gilding/embossing on their book covers and the painted edges fair against the test of reading and rereading? Are their bindings smyth sewn or glued perfect?

Thank you! :) I do as I'm part of the subscription and I get a book every month on top of the extras I buy hahah The ones I've read from have fared really well! Though for full disclosure I am much more careful than I would be with a mass market or paperback. The usual books in the shop/the sub book are glued, but the Press edtions (like the Of Blood and Fire edition I showed at the end) are smyth sewn :)
