I'm so happy for Stan and not at all jealous. Well, maybe a little jealous. Like 90% happy, 10% jealous. Yeah, yeah, I'm sure I'm just 80% jealous. No less than 70%, for sure. Well, somewhere around 50%. Yeah, like 40% happy for sure.

Wow! I just bought that Yarka watercolor set last night and it took all of my Christmas money. The amount of stuff they gave you blows my mind! Jealous!

I love Yatka paint. You dont have do so much preparation. It has a great quality of color just make it as dense and as you want with your brush. It's such a no fuss way to paint. while cleaning your work area there is no waste of paint since you haven't got as large a mixing area which happens with tubes. Anyway it's much more convient.

I wouldn't use watercolors thick like gouache. Watercolor is not flexible when it dries thick so it will likely crack .

I like tube watercolors better than the dry kind because it's easier to mix darks without them getting watered down too much.

I got all excited about finding a new supplier, but it turns out Richeson doesn't sell directly to consumers, only wholesale. I'll keep them in mind if I ever decide to open an art supply store.

Learning about casing and guash , I never used either be for now I’ll have to explore with it I use Acrylics ,watercolors, and sketch, but I have pastels I’m going to explore with that are oil pastels! ❤ exploration is knowledge 👍🏻🙏

YEARS ago in a Mother Earth News magazine, a 12 year old girl demonstrated how to make homemade charcoal pencils out of willow. I think the article said willow was a good substance to make the pencils, as in the old masters used willow. The girl put the cut sticks into a coffee can over a fire and the sticks magically transformed.

Um. Based on my observations of artists in the wild I'm willing to bet the cavewoman accidentally dipped her paint brush in her bowl of milk. Kinda like when we put our paint brushes in our coffee cup. Just speculating alternative theories. :)

It's mostly used for studies when you don't care if the paper falls apart. It's super cheap but doesn't stand the test of time.
