I think you're spot on with your review. I was kind of thinking the same things as you were going over it and going back and looking at the prime 1 Venom I think p1 is just a superior venom especially considering this one and the prime one are right around that same price range. This could have been a really great statue if executed correctly

I agree with your review of this statue. There are a lot of problems with anatomy and painting. They can't all be great, hope you can recoup the cost.

Clean paintjob on the base. I try to like the first headsculpt, but I can’t and it looks strange to me don‘t know why🤔

The quads and hamstrings are on point, nice powerlifter look to them, what you would expect for leaping, but you're right the anatomy proportions are definitely off.

The bricks could be redone pretty easily with the right color, the chip could be filled and repainted easily , I don't understand why the tendrils are glossy but the body is not, but it could be masked an hit with some gloss cote.

Definitely feel their paying could have been a lot better overall on this piece. Outside of that I actually kinda like this piece probably in my to ten venoms I've seen

Hey, I have the same statue - and agree with most of your points, particularly on the paint and scale. I still like the piece overall though. Re: the paint chip - I think you’ll find that’s where the rope is supposed to be glued down. It appears to have broken away. I have photos of mine that show the rope sitting in the exact spot where yours has lifted off.

That turntable looks familiar. Where did you pick that up?

the thing that makes it looks off in size is the head. venoms body changes however the head doesn't increase at the same rate. a smaller head makes it look more buff. often used in hulk or venom but this head is massive and too long for the body. so it doesn't look like he's bigger but like he's been upscaled

I do like the transformation portrait, it's not that bad. But the skin texture look like elephant skin, and symbiote was supposed to be slimy

I dont ever want to bag on artists. But the painting isn't great. The wood looks over dry brushed and lost the depth and kept like a powder coat. Same on the Venom himself. Still a cool piece! Thanks for all you're doing!

That sticks. it looks like it had alot of potential. The inside of the back emblem on the spine looks like it wasn't smoothed out correctly.

I think a better way to put it would be that he looks more like a modern day freak of nature body builder rather than a golden era physique. He’s still jacked as hell but the proportions aren’t flattering. Despite Venom’s height being variable, I def think he’s overscaled. I’d say an average height for Venom is prob between 7 and 8 feet tall.

With the close up statue montage with the music at the end of you're videos Mr. X, i think you should compose both depressing trashy ugly and an up beat Xtreme cool Wrail ominous musics that'll signify each of the statues you review that are good and bad.

I have Hob Goblin and Doppelgänger and really like them both a lot. Not sure what happened with this Venom, but based on what I see in this video, I would never guess this was done by the same folks that did the other two I mentioned. My best custom Venom is my Spidey vs Venom.

Hot damn! I have this coming and that’s XTREMELY disappointing. The paint, as you said, on venom is looking flat AF. Agree with everything you’ve said. Way out of scale too. Rule of thumb: never judge value by the “size of statue you get.” If it’s trash it could be 3 ft tall piece of trash in your room. If it’s a 12in grail - it’s a 12 in. grail. I would suggest anyone looking for size as any measure towards the value of what is supposed to be art to reconsider. Maybe you just want the size impression? If so, you do you. It’s shallow... but it’s what makes you happy I guess.

Sign, it’s a bummer you consider my favorite Supergirl Trash and my favorite Thor Ugly... oh well, personal tastes i guess. 😝 As for the Venom piece, you know I’m always honest about my opinions dude, it’s at least a 3/5 for me. You practically have a 1/3 piece for exactly the retail price of an 1/3 statue (price and shipping). And it’s custom. For me, that raises the value to at least 4/5! Paint is not that bad... The arms are a little short, but that’s because they tried to replicate the cover art. Overall, don’t be disappointed. It’s still an awesome statue. And hey, being the first out of 45 people in the whole world... that’s pretty neat!

I have to agree overscaled and the faults you pointed out are bad.....i kniw you have mentioned this peice in a few previous videos...sometimes statues are like online dating pictures may look great but in real life they may look totally different

I like this Venom, just his left gluteus doesn't look anatomically correct with the position he has it's leg on the be, but that only happens when seeing it from behind

Maybe with a smaller head he could look better next to 1/4 statues as Spider-man.. but his head is giant! almost making him look like a chubby midget in 1/3 scale than a muscular beast

I actually dont hate him, I really like the foot on the bell and how so many venom pieces go for the monster venom side of the character I like this as a more humanising approach, that being said I also dont own a venom piece so that counts. Also, fun fact, after watching your videos, specifically your transformers pieces, I've since gone back and started rewatching the movies, so thanks for that haha🤣🤣

I kinda liked it at first glance, but upon further inspection it is a bit bland. The paint gives it an almost dusty appearance.
