What's the 44 Club you may ask? I'm in Oregon. We have a million deer here in my neighborhood, and everyone I know is very welcoming to them. They are in my yard daily. We love them. But I'm all about hunting in the woods. Lol.

If you will have the giant dart spinning (like a top) as it falls, it might cut through the air a little better and fall more true. You wind up (twist) the rope and let it start to unravel as you drop it.

That's actually not true. Since the fins are straight in line with the body of the dart having rotation on the drop would increase the drag from air resistance, decreasing the drop speed slightly and potentially destabilizing the dart more . Just look at modern missiles; if having spin helped them hit targets better, then they would be designed to spin.

Yeah, it is just 1m more, but you see it this way: If you have a 3mm steel plate you have to add 33% of the Material to get to 4mm. That difference is huge! and I ´m quite sure it is exponentially stronger.

If you used actually tinny tin, not only would it probably snap under its own weight on the table before you even dropped a dart on it, your bank balance would go pop - tin is probably the most expensive 'common' metal in existence.
