That had to be one of if not the coolest things I've ever seen. What was so crazy was to see how much the line vibrates, stretches and moves with the giant grouper was simply amazing. Great job to see one of these Giants swallowing a very big dead bait so easily and the hook couldn't have been set anywhere better. Than the top jaw. Awesome job guys. Hope to see many more to come. Thumbs up big time.

Jewfish collapse their gills violently and make a loud boom (very loud) when agitated. I shot several in my scuba days in the 60's and early 70's. Sometimes in very brown Texas oil rig water. I recovered one for a friend in zero vis by feeling my way down the parachute strap and untangling it. I still have the record in the Freeport Fishing Fiesta from 1973, 321 lbs. A forever record since illegal to shoot now. Cool story about that fish, I handed my friends in the boat my riding rig rope and went to climb in the boat. I got in the boat and they had the rope jerked out of their hands. I went into a rage and dove over board with mask and snorkel, the fish was still groggy swimming down, I reached the rope and drug the fish back up to the boat. I go insane when I'm fighting a big fish ha ha. Started free diving in 1975 when we moved to St Croix, fell in love with free diving and Anegada in the BVI.
