I took a trip over to the west coast of Florida to fish for tripletail in the Tampa Bay area. Our goal was to sight fish tripletail on buoys with live shrimp. You have to catch a lot of miscellaneous species in order to get the tripletail such as catfish, stingrays and sharks. We got a GIANT 26in 10lb tripletail on our trip and it's one of my favorite eating fish!

You're playing Russian Roulette every time you eat raw fish there young man. I had my best friend damn near die because of a parasite he contracted from eating undercooked Grayling while on a Caribou hunt in Alaska. It took specialists here in the Midwest nearly 5 years to heal him. Poor guy almost shit himself to death a few times. It's rare but by God it happens. He spent a couple years literally wearing a fucking diaper...NOT cool!

I just sold two houses close to Tampa Bay and fished off the piers on Anna Maria Island. It is nice to see someone doing well fishing the Bay. The past couple of years have been tough with red tide and industrial chemical dumps doing a number on the fish. Hopefully the fishery will rebound as the seasons change. Your Snapper and Triple tail looked great👍

This is a FACT... RED TIDE and Criminal Chemical dumps.... and the Lake Okeechobee Sewer leveling water releases into the Caloosahatchee River by the Army Corp engineers has so POLLUTED our SW Gulf water. Wake up citizens! Write your local government! STAND UP FOR OUR WATERS.

I live in the bay area and fish almost daily, redtide has done an absolute number on it man. I used to be able to catch snook, reds, etc etc off the shorelines and between all the grassbeds dying off because of redtide, fishkills, and over development all the good spots to fish are gone and it's slowly becoming a dead area for fishing (inshore anyways) and it hurts to see

@@NotScav This is True. SW FL has become a fishing wasteland. Mostly due to the GARBAGE COMING DOWN THE CALOOSAHATCHEE RIVER FROM LAKE OKEECHOBEE !! People need to realize the Army Corp of Engineers are in bed with the local governments (naturally) to keep the Lake Okeechobee sewer waters being release to our sacred Gulf coast. Wake up SW FL! Get involved!

Oh man, I miss fishing in Tampa Bay SO much! I grew up in Brandon and I fished Tampa Bay all the time when I had my flats boat and went out on the Gulf Queen so many times. I was just down there in 2019 and I went out on the GQ again and we didn't catch much. Back when I was a teenager we would go out with a PACKED boat and everyone would be catching grouper and grunts. When we went out we were targeting Hogfish and grouper and between three of us we caught 4 Hogfish and I caught quite a few really nice snapper. The captain used to let us go up on the bridge and lay down up top and BS. He even used to let me drive the boat from time to time because I had a captain's license.

I remember around 5 years ago I caught a legal tripletail from cape Canaveral just soaking the bottom. Was one of the crazier catches ive had in my life. Also the best tasting!

Great vid. Running in off of Anna Maria Island two years ago, passed a crab trap buoy, cruising, Triple Tail caught our eye. Swung the boat around and sent a live bait right to it and Bam, Fish On! What a bite so much fun Love Triple Tail Fishing. God Bless!!

Amazing fish! They r one of my favorite species. Wish we had them that big here in NC. My pb is only 16 inches. Saw the biggest I’ve ever seen last week tho, he was probably 25, spent an hour trying to get him to eat, tried shrimp, hermit crab, and even live fiddler crab but he knew what was up 😂. Also they float on their side to look like structure in order to attract prey, then all they have to do is lash out and grab it

biggest triple tail caught was under a dock/boat just like where you guys fillet. 22 lbs in miami, fl you’d be surprised what lives in those canals. jump in one day
