+drServitis You know, that would be cool too. It didn't sound like the heli was at full throttle/pitch either. I'm sure it could lift a half pound or so.

More than likely it has a flybarless control unit on it.

+James M I would think so, but are there any flybarless controllers off the shelf that support tandem rotor aircraft? If true CP heads are on this helicopter in the video, then I believe yaw would be controlled by altering the collective between the two heads which I don't think you could do with a standard off the shelf DFC flight controller(s) I know of unless you designed your own programing.

+James M ....Vario builds their own Mixer for the Chinook with a Bavarian Demon Special Setup.The heads are Special and very complex. The rotor rank is flexible and dampened by Special Rubbers. They work exactly in axis of the rotor System. This is needed for stability and steering in yaw axis. This is the Basis on how it flys the Tandem like the way you see in video.

+James M ..... I found a general build pdf on Vario's web site. The model uses what looks like a two servo CCPM on both swashplates. Each servo has two linkages coming off the servo arms and "Y" up to the swashplate in an X pattern. The servos allow for collective and left/right cyclic. There is no direct for/aft cyclic on either swashplate. Collective is just that, both swashplates rising and lowering together. Elevator is differential collective. Roll is common left/right cyclic and yaw is differential left/right cyclic. It's about as simple as it gets, especially if you've ever seen one of the old Hirobo Vertols that used muli layered mix arms between aileron and yaw servos and between the elevator and collective servos. It worked but was a lot of linkages to put together. Vario's system is remarkably simple but requires the specialized control system to work. I just wish I had the money to throw away right now. This is a very cool bird!

Was er zum Schluss macht die Propeller mit der Hand stoppen ist ja nicht so klug am besten ist wenn die Propeller von alleine stoppen sonst schadet man den Lager

ich war nur am donnerstag in dortmund, wollte länger bleiben, habe aber am do fast alles gesehen. auf shockflyer und styroflieger am freitag hatte ich kein bock. kuckt eh keiner. also kurz um hotel storniert und zurück nach berlin...
