My friend Charlie couldn't find a lazy susan the right size for his dining table, so I offered to make one for him. I thought it would be fun to make a giant Kumiko asanoha pattern, but this turned out to be a lot more difficult than I imagined.
Kumiko is generally decorative, but a lazy susan has to hold the weight of all the food whilst rotating about its center. A lazy susan also needs to be a solid flat surface, without gaps between the pattern pieces. This made it much more complicated as you can see in this video,
