Not to scare you, but I heard even being swept by one of their fins has enough force to kill someone! It’s never happened, but it’s honestly so fascinating that these beautiful creatures can power through oceans with how big they are :)

Claire Sabol Whales are indeed super fascinating! To add onto what you’re saying, the reason why no one has ever died from a whales tail is because they seem to be very careful in trying not to harm us. They seem to love us the same way we love them!

I’m not sure what’s more impressive, that something that big is able to move that fast in the water, or that there are humans with enough balls to get that close to a creature that big. Whales can speak, especially sperm whales. Their communication is showing itself to be much more sophisticated than our own. Not to mention their massive brain size, combined with their extremely large and developed regions of the brain responsible for conscious thought, and speech. They even have different dialects. Scary to think but as research progresses, it’s starting to look like they are much more intelligent than humans, with their body anatomy being their limiting factor of course.

I was on a cruise ship going to The Cayman Islands. It was March of 2009 and I will never forget this one particular night. It was super late like 3 in the morning and I was the only one out on the dock at this moment. Millions of stars filled the sky and reflected on the sea. It was calm and quiet. Suddenly I heard the soft call of a whale in the distance, I rushed to the side of the ship to look in the direction of where the sound came from. I stared for what felt like hours waiting for something to happen. Then I heard it again and saw the massive blue whale slowly appear above the water before disappearing beneath the sea. It was the most magical moment of my life.

Whether it's the reactions of the people who just witnessed one of the coolest things whales can do for us when out on a watch, or the tranquility of being underwater with them, or even being so close to mom and calf that you can hear them communicating with each other. Every single one brings something absolutely amazing, whether it's laughter, or jaw-dropping, eye-popping-ly unexpected facial expressions, or the deep blueness background to sleeping giants in the forefront, (which was my favorite), or the adorable-ness of mom and baby together.....I'm missing so much but you get the picture, or in this case, video. 🤗😍

Don't like it when people get too close. It hasn't happened yet, but one day someone might get killed and people will misjudge whales because of it. Even though they are literally the most gentle animals out there, their size can be hard to control, especially with people swimming almost right next to them. One blow from the fin and that person is knocked out and drowning. I'm from Norway btw (where there are a lot of whales) and it's already happened a few times that the media has covered stories of close encounters with the use of scary music and titles intended to scare to get views. People need to leave them alone, respect their space and stop being obsessed with getting their footage. These are very intelligent creatures, they might not come back to a certain area if they feel threatened there, that's why it's important to respect their space. If the whale finds you on their own then it's fine, but people really shouldn't stalk them and jump into the water right next to them. Also whales breach all the time, it's not because they want to give humans "a show" (typical human mentality right there, we have a tendency to think everything is for us), they actually breach because they want to signalize to other whales that either food or predators are near. It's also a form of communication, as their eco localizacion provides signals under water, while breaching causes communication near the surface of the water. *Update: I don't want to lecture people on what the can/can't do, but I hope this comment might influence certain perspectives. I'm replying to some comments, there's more information in the replies for those interested.

It's a very beautiful picture..some whale sleeping..😁 There is a mother and baby whale too. So cute.😍 They play jum happily in the water as if intending to show off to the audience on the boat. Those who dive down are happy to swim close to the whales and get beautiful clip.😍😍😍
