Just ran across your review of this SG and was pleased to see you getting nice tones out of it. I got one of these back in August 2023, and I love it. Sorry, though, to hear that the guitar was not in optimal condition when you received it. I got mine at Sweewater, and it was perfect right out of the box. Anyway, it's good to hear you getting some nice tones coming out of it with your nice chops. This guitar is definitely a keeper for me. By the way, since Sweetwater often allows you to compare models of the same guitar, I got the heaviest one they had (7+ lbs.), and mine has no neck dive that I've experienced in the past with SG's. Love this guitar.

Great Demo of this 61 SG and review! Just picked up the same guitar 2 weeks ago.The 61 for me was head and shoulders a better guitar than the regular standard.The pickups,neck,and added hardcase sealed the deal for me.I haven’t touched any of my other guitars since I’ve got this one.

Just got a 2001 '61 reissue. So sick. Saved $600 because it had a minor input jack repair.

JL, dude, love your flow in the intro... not sure if that taste Oasis' "F**king in the Bushes" (00:58) was a coincidence or not, but it fit like a glove. Just ordered the same guitar and living vicariously through vids like yours until it arrives.

Gibson SG guitars have always been just a pretty solid guitar usually can't go wrong with one. But I will say that epiphones SG guitars are pretty on pair with there gibson counter parts these days for a lot less money.

Nice review. Love the ‘61 SG. I think Gibson sorts the light bodies for the ‘61 vs Std. When people ask me for a lightweight guitar that still brings the rock, which they never do, I always suggest the ‘61 SG.

Did you buy that at the Nashville guitar center. Because of you did I just bought the darker older model 61 sg today you talk about in this video. Definitely a bit wider neck but it plays great

According to everything else I've seen online, the neck dive is a KNOWN issue on this guitar. In my opinion, a very small price to pay for that SOUND....

This is 61 SG, thinner neck than the Standard SG, that's why there is no neck dive
