I will never get tired of saying that Lion is so fucking good, it is a masterpiece! Lyrics, arrangement, the MV concept, wardrobe choice, the choreography, the line distribution, the rap. Everything is crafted amazingly. Plus knowing how this song was made also made me think and believe that SOYEON IS A FUCKING GENIUS! HER DEDICATION AND PASSION IS UNBELIEVABLE! I don't see anyone commenting on all those internal rhymes within the verses and chorus. You can tell a rapper wrote these lyrics because they'd have consistent internal rhymes even when being rapped. She just set a rap to a pop melody and gave it to her girls. Like damn, Soyeon, just take it to that level.

"'It looks like a lion. I'm a queen like a lion". My interpretation of this lyric and the imagery in this MV relates to the path that G Idle wants to create for themselves in Kpop. Both queens and lions are symbolic of power and dominance - but in almost opposite ways. Queens are elegant and regal, whereas lions are aggressive and animalistic. I think this is trying to say that G Idle has a clear goal set in mind, but the way they get there is not one dimensional. They are not going to be confined to traditional descriptions of "cute, sexy, girl crush" etc. as they do not want to be perceived just as idols, but also as actual artists. Both raw and also pristine - they are queens and lions.

She wrote about this becuause of their apperance in queendom, while other groups sang in the final about love, guys, and other stuff, Soyeon stick with the idea of the program "Queendom" and she wrote and compose this magnificent song. love & pain is the most powerful emotions a being could possess. so them saying that it can't confine & tame them means that nothing in this world could stop them. there's a saying "love conquers all", but here they wan't to portray that they can conquer love instead. also there's this "turn pain into power", they are not letting pain consume them so they turn it into power. that's where queen and lion come in. queen, meaning a female, showing female dominance, as a book once said "a beauty that can make any hero fall is greater than any legends existed.". lion, being the king of the jungle, shows male dominance, how they can be agressive & wild at the same time. i'm sorry if it's confusing, but i tried my best. hope this helps.

I don’t know if anyone noticed already, but I like the detail that until Minnie does her line “Young lion takes its crown”, the girls have been dancing in the simple neutral dresses during the group dance in color, but after that line they’re in the royal garb while dancing. It’s just oof I really respect them and love this video.

Lion is (G)I-dle's best song without any doubt… 🦁🎶 It is everything we ever dreamed about put together in one song: -Soyeon's powerful, extremly fast rap, which showcased again that she is a monster rap queen… -Miyeon's beautiful voice during the chorus and her admirable visuals… -Soojin, who is really THE lion queen herself, represented the vibe of the music video perfectly. And she killed us in the outro… -Minnie's breathtaking high note and also her amazing voice during the intro. -Yuqi's deep and strong voice, which is always one of the highlights of every song from (G)I-dle… -And Shuhua also got really good lines, she absolutely slayed.

Now that Shuhua has her lines and confidence it’s like the whole group transformed into something even more incredible. These girls are still only a year into the industry and they’re already true artists. There’s going to be BIG things coming for this group and I’m excited af to witness it.

Soyeon was bashed for being “ugly” during pd101 (when in fact she really is not) Miyeon was bashed for her dancing skills (she improved this and gained confidence per era) Minnie was belittled for her unique voice (when in fact her voice is like from angels above) Soojin was criticized for only doing sexy concepts (but we all know that she’s really a true dancer that tries- have tried different genres already) Yuqi was also criticized for only doing cute concepts (we all know she’s a powerful baby that clearly can kill us all with her gaze) And lastly when Shuhua was criticized for her pronunciation and was labeled as “untalented” throughout the years (we all know neverland that our maknae really is talented winning gymnastics in ISAC, having the damn vocals in light my body up. It’s just that at the time she’s showing her talent but wasn’t notice by anybody except for neverlands, but now look at her grow!
