It was the " I dont know man" for me. How childish is it to do a trick that your opponent has no idea what even occurred and you're so dead set on winning you won't even explain it. That shit just looked like a pop shov it with extra steps, shaun should just did a pop shov it. He wasn't asking for a step by step trick tip he simply wanted to know what trick to even do. And you could tell when he popped the trick he still didn't even know the trick he was suppose to be performing. "i don't know man" get outta here with that shit.

Old BATB was way sicker honestly. Just good pros having fun playing SKATE. It was pretty rare that the rules slid. Davis repeating the joke only louder at the beginning already had me thinking dude's a kook. Reminds me of someone I know who does the exact same thing and also tries real hard to act cool and IDGAF but then at the same time manages to make literally everything a pissing contest, is all smiles when things are going his way but when he doesn't get the validation he wants immediately switches to acting like a toddler who's been denied his rightful sucky thing. I'm usually willing to humor people who are obviously just compensating for their insecurities but these types spoil the vibe for everyone if left unchecked.
@pnksmigge53242 жыл бұрын
Sean Davis winning a battle but losing the audience for himself and the berrics is too funny, this is almost like a wrestling match, where they tried everything to make me hate the cariuma guy. This guys attitude shut down all of the Berrics comment sections lmao. I'm also pretty sure that's not how you chess. Also that was the definition of a steezy 3 shuv, not an impossible at all..
@tomowennelson2 жыл бұрын
Just on 3 shuv's - Sewa has a steezy 3 shuv that rotates freely and that should be the differentiating factor (free rotation or rotation guided by back foot). The same way an ugly rocket flip is still a kickflip, people will have more "proper" impossibles with scoop and vertical rotation, but if it's guided by back foot it counts as an impossible.
@pnksmigge53242 жыл бұрын
@@tomowennelson I disagree here, while guidance by the backfoot is an important factor, the board still has to go vertical. If only the scoop mattered and the board doesn't, any varial flip would be a dolphin flip too, the difference is only in the board being vertical.
@tomowennelson2 жыл бұрын
@@pnksmigge5324 I get wanting to say it's not a proper impossible, but I think calling it a 3 shuv would be more wrong. Popping a free rotating 3 shuv without flipping is almost harder than an impossible, so if someone (like Sewa) does his real 3 shuv would you count Davis' version here as same trick? I think you either have to make a 3rd category (which would be ridiculous) or go with the simplest definition of free rotating vs guided by back foot, and call vertical ones "proper" impossibles. The same way here he calls out a "proper" bs 360 even though everyone gets away with 180 pivots.
@kiwayakotako53202 жыл бұрын
@@tomowennelson doing a proper 3shuv like sewa is a lot harder than a guided one, but then again nobody forces him to do em like that in a game of skate. people like luan could go 0.1mph and pop a kickflip an inch in the air and it'd technically be easier but he chooses to go fast as fuck and pop his shit sky high because thats what he's grown to be comfortable with. so to end my little ramble - guided or not, a 3shuv is a 3shuv. do it whichever way feels best for you
@kiwayakotako53202 жыл бұрын
theres also the fact that sewa probably does 3shuvs more often than most of his peers. same goes for your bs360 example - if you are able to do one cleanly in the air then more power to you. if you do a 180 and then pivot the rest of the way and it looks fluid enough then that's okay too. youre not taking a 360 like that down anything but then again, do you really have to? you cant be the best at every trick

Ya we love progression but at the expense of another? Have we devolved into a jock mentality?I hope not. The Berrics website has progressed into what Transworlds website became before I stopped visiting it. I giant add drop. That match was straight trash. I honestly fear this Cariuma shit. It may be all your fear mongering, but the amount I’m seeing of it now is seriously alarming. The shoe is disgusting. Selling out has never been a issue for me. I get it. We all want to survive, but at what cost. I hope Thrasher bans Cariuma skaters from having parts. Such a ugly ass shoe.

What a prescient comment. Cariuma has all but destroyed skateboarding completely and they did it by blinding people with their ugly ass logos. As the world sinks further and further into the abyss due to their guady chevron, will we have done anything to stop them? God help us all.

I grew up skating with Sean and his brother at Naper and man has it been a wild ride watching life pass by. All of this shit happening feels surreal. I just hope he isn't too deep in the scientology money.
@aikordt35992 жыл бұрын
Interesting that. You got any stories from knowing him?
@antihero8982 жыл бұрын
@@aikordt3599 Lots and lots, both good and bad. When I first started skating with him, he was a little 10 year old, his brother was about 15, and I was barely 17. We would do shenanigan shit like shake up all the beers in cases that our friends would bring to the park or yell and hassle people that would just lurk at the park and not skate. After a while, it got old because not only did I get old but the shenanigan shit didn't stop. Wouldn't drive him to the park or give him rides because he would do dumb shit and say dumb shit. I'd have to have child lock on for both the doors and windows. Fast forward to now and I'm still friends with his brother and skate with him time to time, but the bit about an "only child attitude" and getting pissed when he didn't get his way is pretty spot on from what I experienced. He was one of those dudes where if a big-name shredder came to the park, you weren't his friend anymore and instead he ignored you while sucking up to the "shredder" any way possible. I haven't said a word to Sean in years and for all I know he has calmed down and is a better dude. But the last time I heard he was in the Naperville area, he was asking friends of our old crew if they would buy a board of his. If he had asked me, I probably would have laughed.

Cariuma's Instagram only allows you to comment on their posts if you follow them. Looks like they follow a policy of damage limitation and censor any criticism on their social channels.
@nathanskates982 жыл бұрын
@@djmon1987 it's not criticism if it's morons commenting pure negative hating shit. Of course turn the comments off, who's trying to hear all that negativity over a game of skate

@@nathanskates98 But 99% of skateboarding is talking shit! I can understand a business limiting comments - it hardly looks great to potential customers if there's a bunch of morons all over your socials spreading negativity. But Cariuma potentially dictating that the Berrics switch off KZfaq comments is whack. Free speeeech! etc. etc.
