Next time you go to the Philippines, please buy "tabrilya/tablea". It's a roasted, ground cacao beans made into round tablets. It is made of pure cacao beans.way much better than Milo when you use it in champorado!

wow! The number of comments here is astounding. The video was posted 30 mins ago and the number of people watching and super engaged to your channel is amazing. I love how you experimented with Champorado. Generally, Filipinos dont use Milo to flavor the champorado. Instead we use Cacao or Tablea. It is the ingredient in chocolates. You dan buy it in cubed form in the local markets. The pancit canton is the ultimate Filipino snack. I cook it with hardboiled egg and I pair it with pandesal. Pancit Canton is rated as the most favorite Filipino snack. The company that makes it is earning billions because of that. I an happy that your Family is coming back to the Philippines in October. Please come with the kids and Sergei. We will surely love to accomodate all of you guys. Your family has been an extended family to us. All the best to your Channel guys. Mabuhay!!!❤❤

Milo is an instant chocolate drink and not really used for champorado or for cooking. Cocoa powder is what most Filipinos use for champorado but if you want the authentic or legit champorado, tablea is the best.

Andrie the right way of cooking that pancit Canton..first you do is boiling the water then put the pancit noodles to the boild water for a better cooked .then take out the Canton from the boild water .then put all the ingredients together to the pancit Canton..mix it well for a verry good tasty... But in my own opinion..If I cook pancit Canton...I mixed 1 pack of kalamansi flavor and 1 hot and spicy flavor for a little bit spicy..try it. really good taste than one flavor...

Here in the Philippines we use tablea to make a champorado and malagkit rice or sticky rice. Then if it's cook we pour evaporated milk on the top. Andrei, if you go back with your whole family in the Philippines in October have a list of items that you need to buy here so that when you go back in Russia you have some ingredients you need like tablea, sticky rice or malagkit, mascuvado sugar, evaporated and condense milk, sotanghon, pancit canton in big size etc. so that your mom and sister can have variety of ingredients in the kitchen if they want to try cooking Filipino food.

MILO is used to make chocolate milk. Champorado uses regular cocoa or tablea, glutinous rice, sugar, evaporated milk. We NORMALLY dont use MILO chocolate powder for champorado. LOL. :) Addendum: It seems there are those who use MILO to make their champorado; and it's all right. BUT that does not make it the traditional way of making Filipino champorado. Statement of fact does not constitute telling or, worse, dictating to people not to improvise. I, myself, improvise quite a bit when I make Filipino food; but I always inform my non-Fiipino co-workers that my Filipino food is NOT authentic, that it is MY version of Filipino food.

Tablea (ponounced "tableya") or pure ground cacao is what's usually used in our champorado. You can either buy ground ones in packs or those that come as solid cylinders which you have to crush and grind. It has a strong bitter taste. And the type of rice used is not the one usually used as steamed rice, but it is called "malagkit" or sticky rice. And we don't put coconut milk in it. Once cooked, you can just add evaporated milk and sugar for each serving. And pair it with dilis or fried dried anchovies. But the one Mama Olga made is still great! You might have just invented your version of champorado! Congratulations!

Pure cacao unsweetened tablets/tablets is best also for champorado, then with coconut milk and condense milk, so yummy ❤❤❤mommy Olga would definitely master Filipino cooking for sure.

Hi! Using the right cocoa will make a big difference in the taste. You may want to buy the brand Tablea (round pack), Sweet rice, and just regular evaporated milk that you put once the champorado is on the table. We'd cook the sweet rice, and once it starts to boil or when the rice is cooked, we'd add the grated tablea, enough to darken the porridge. And serve. Add the evaporated milk once on the table. Here in the States, if we don't have sweet rice, I cook oatmeal with a bit of liquid, not dry, and add the ready cocoa like Swissmiss, especially when kids were little. Add evaporated milk before serving. Enjoy your champorado!!!🙂

Nice try of your champorado version there. Hehe. Lisa's champorado last time looks more authentic and near to the original way of cooking champorado. Nice to see you happy family back ang reunited together. 👍👍❤❤🙏🙏
