The fact that former and current NBA players can argue against each other on a point, even though all of them made it to “that level”, goes to show that an NBA player’s word isn’t the end all be all. They can’t use that “you never played” against each other so they just yell louder 😂😂😂

Finally someone talks about where Magic started vs where Curry started. Kareem is in most people's top 5 and there were 2 50-win teams in the west other than the Lakers in 1980. Curry led the Warriors in 2015 through 6 other 50-win teams in the west, the difficulty is night and days.

Not really when you take in account the amount of points scored from 3 then compared to more. The game was more difficult & harder to score then..... When magic played they took 10x less amount of 3s than today. 3.5 3s a game compared to 34.5 a game today

@@OGItachiihistorically inaccurate. The Lakers did not make the conference finals the two years prior to Magic. Norm Nixon was traded within 2 years so that Magic could be the full time guy handling the ball, because Magic had always controlled the ball. He did play center in HS as a sophomore by default. It is easy for Gil to mislead and tell half truths to the younger generations of fans because they just don’t know. He had a subjective take. I can’t say he was lying. He gave his subjective opinion which was based on inaccuracies. If Magic is a one of one, certainly Steph is a one of one. No player before or since have been able shoot like Steph. You never thought of it, because you weren’t there to watch or witness Magic career in totality. You take Gil’s take as facts when he was born AFTER Magic was drafted and was far too young to understand basketball during the 80’s . Y’all need to stop taking Gils opinion as fact. Very dope conversation until McCants went on a tangent. It's impossible to say who's the best because the game evolved. Point Guard used to be about assists and now it's about points so it's impossible to say. Who has the most assist?

Brandon said he was the most influential baller out of Cali on an episode. Miko refuted that argument and said Frank Nitty was the most influential out of Cali on an episode while Brandon wasn't present. So Brandon is mad about that. I noticed Brandon made a comment that only D1 and WNBA players should be on the couch as contributors. That means Miko doesn't qualify to speak about sports with them since she wasn't a D1 recruit/WNBA player.

Nah. Gil was wrong about Magic being the SF. He guarded the SF’s on defense but he was definitely the lead guard. You guys have to stop accepting Gil’s takes as absolute fact. Many times he is not factually sound. Especially when speaking of older eras. The reason why I respect the older generations, is because they don’t have to diminish the legacy of their peers or the younger generation of players to make their case. Their work speaks for itself. They need to have fact checkers immediately. The Lakers did NOT go to consecutive Conference Finals. Gil was giving his subjective opinion with a ton of inaccuracies.
@mobrown1198

Gil talking the determinants of great guards who won championships … from a shoot first combo guard who ain’t won nothing ~ never sacrificed for his teammates, is just as laughable as McCants take on being the best player. The Celtics didn’t have a great team before Bird. Parrish, McHalle came after Bird was already on the team. Birds Celtics had one of the greatest single season turn arounds in the history of the league. I believe it was the greatest for quite a while. Gil~ gives subjective opinions without context, inaccuracies, and the younger fans believe it and repeat the same narratives. That’s the issue ~ you and the 45 others that agree that Gil was talking facts. Nah.

@12savage68 Its called the GOAT debate as what did they accomplish in there career rings, accolades, records, stats, and individual skill is all included in the debate. There's no individual accolades in the NBA every accolade is apart of team success.

@@12savage68 that was not in order, I was just listing all the criteria that SHOULD be included when ranking all time greats but rings being the least important makes no sense. For example if Kobe never won another ring after Shaq but he kept averaging +30 ppg and broke Kareem's scoring record people would just say he was putting up empty stats and couldn't win a championship without Shaq and he's not an alltime great (even though he did win 2 more rings they still hate on him but that's a topic for another day) This is why players like Harden and Westbrook who put up some of the craziest stats ever but we all can agree are nowhere the top 10 ever because they don't have rings. If they did we would be putting them in the all time great discussions
@OGItachii
@OGItachii Жыл бұрын
@@12savage68no, you can get players drafted to bum teams putting up big numbers and accomplish nothing. Success adds context to how impactful they actually are. When people do GOAT debates you have to take into account everything. Winning is why we play so yes it should be weighed heavily but there should be context (Horry 7 vs Jordan 6 for eg). IMO i just do who is the best of THEIR era/decade. As much as people want to argue Mj vs LBJ its impossible because we dont know how they fare in each others era. Its all fantasy and opinion.
