Summary Review:
The 2020 GILI Meno series consists of two great, premium paddleboards that those brand new to the sport or have been paddling for years will love. We rank both versions of the 2020 Meno a 9.4 out of 10 for their great stability, smooth tracking, and glide, impressive weight capacity coupled with a lightweight build, dynamic fin system, and GILI Sport’s ocean charity efforts with every purchase.
The two versions of the GILI Meno are similar to each other, differing only in length when it comes to their overall dimensions. The 10’6’’ and 11’6’’ versions of the Meno are both 35’’ wide and 6’’’ thick, giving you plenty of space to spread out on and a ton of overall board stability. In terms of tracking and maneuverability, while we enjoy the performance offered by both, we would recommend the 10’6’’ board for those who want something a bit easier to maneuver and the 11’6’’ for those who want to prioritize tracking. Overall, we think you can have a ton of fun using these paddleboards anywhere, from calm lakes and bays to some slower moving rivers and even out into the ocean to paddle with the waves!
The large decks and impressive weight capacity of the two Meno boards make them both great for paddling not just by yourself, but with your kids, a pet, or even another adult paddler in tandem. The soft and fuzzy deck pads are well suited for yoga, or for just casually laying out on with your friends, both versions of the Meno having 17 D-rings, dual-bungee cords, and an action mount for accessories. An exclusive feature incorporated into the 11’6’’ version of the Meno are three Scotty Mounts, which are compatible with many popular fishing accessories and add-ons, making the 11’6’’ Meno one of our favorite SUP fishing boards. Whichever board you go with though, you can try out all sorts of activities with it’s premium all-around performance, be it from some light touring to some friendly racing with other SUPs.
The two versions of the 2020 GILI Meno are both built with a dual-layer fusion of military-grade PVC composite, a shell that protects a tight drop stitch core. While we quite like the dual-layer build by itself, we really love the extra performance provided by the carbon fiber reinforced rails that provide a truly premium, rigid SUP experience. In terms of weight and rider capacity, the 10’6’’ SUP weighs 23 lbs and supports up to 450 lbs, while the 11’6’’ board weighs 24 lbs and supports up to 485 lbs.
Both versions of the Meno have a tri-fin setup, with a US center fin box and snap-lock side fins. Each Meno comes with two 4’’ side fins and three different center fins, consisting of a 9’’, 4.5’’, and 3’’ fins. The longer fins improve tracking while the shorter fins improve maneuverability, but whatever fin setup you go with it's a fantastic inclusion to have five different fins packed into your board kit. Other accessories included with the Meno 10’6’’/11’6’’ kit include a 29 ounce carbon fiber paddle, a dual-chamber pump, a repair kit, a 10’ coiled leash, and a versatile two wheeled roller backpack. While extremely rare, if something does break on your paddleboard, the GILI Meno is protected by a 2-year warranty and a 60-day guarantee.
GILI Sports is also one of our favorite paddleboard manufacturers due to their charity efforts. Every GILI Sports paddleboard has a turtle stamp located on the underside, which is a representation of their pledge. Specifically, $12 to $15 dollars will be donated to Save our Turtles, Coral Reef Alliance, Project Aware, Oceana, or other ocean wildlife and preservation with each new board purchase. You can have fun and make a difference in the world by supporting GILI Sports SUPs!
Beginners and advanced paddlers alike will appreciate the performance and features of the 2020 GILI Meno 10’6’’ and 11’6’’ SUPs. These boards are both very stable, able to support up to two adult paddlers, while offering an enjoyable level of maneuverability, tracking, and glide that you can fine tune with the five fin setup. Due to how light these two boards are, adults of any weight or height can comfortably enjoy using the GILI Meno, as will many young adults looking for a premium board. If you are in a market for a paddleboard that you will want to use for years to come at any skill level and want to support the environment at the same time, it's worth checking out the 2020 GILI Meno 10’6’’ and 11’6’’ SUPS!

I just order the meno 11.6. I bought the adventure last year, I love it but when it came to taking my lady out and her wanting to be with me and not be on her own board it was difficult to kept us both from not going in the water lol. I know there's some upgrades of the 2021 models and I can't wait to see them first hand. I love Gili boards, and especially what they stand for. this is a great review, I can't wait to hit the water with the meno when I get it. can't wait to post videos on here with the meno. thanks for the review of the 2020 model

Does the extra foot make a huge difference when thinking about how many people you can put on there?

Would you recommend this board over BLACKFIN Model X?

Interested in this as well. Was looking at the Irocker 11 All around, the BlueFin Cruise Carbon, and the Blackfin Model X/XL. Just saw this Gili meno and the price, construction and accessories and the carbon paddle, carbon rail and the weight capacity makes it a really interesting option. Thanks in advance for your advice

@@mevsme3908 Regarding the iRocker boards, there's a surge of 1-star reviews on Better Business Bureau and Trustpilot, that's why I'm a bit concerned ordering from them.

It is definitely a comparable option that is more budget friendly. However, the Blackfin Model X is a notch above the Meno in just about every category aside from cost. Especially when it comes to the quality of the deckpad and the number of features. As for iRocker's customer service, we find it to be one of the top companies to work with. As for the recent reviews, I believe that is largely impacted by COVID unfortunately. All manufacturers have been impacted in this category and it has just been a wild year for them but they are still a reputable company by all means!

We've never tried it, but there look to be enough D-rings that you could certainly try it. It'd probably be a little cramped though.

I’m debating between the Gili Meno and iRocker All Around 11’. I like the design more for the Gili, but otherwise they seem similar. What would be your pick between the two? The board would be mainly for me (5’5 ~150lbs) and then occasionally have my husband (6’2 ~220lbs) or friends join.

I’m in a similar debate. Leaning towards Meno because of US fin box. The snap ins on center are not universal and really limit options (especially if want a motorized fin in future)

What did you end up getting Ashlee and Joel? I’m a beginner beginner and watched and read a million reviews and also joined some Reddit and FB groups, I was between iRocker and Atoll, ended up getting Atoll. Their reviews were awesome and I called them to ask some things, customer service was excellent so I was sold!
