This is by far the best razor I have used, ever. I tried Wilkinson Sword and other makes. I've tried shop own makes and they are all rubbish compared to gillette.. Expensive yes but the best shave and I get around 10 shaves out of one blade...Great vid mate

Best razor on the market!!! Blades are pricey but it's worth every penny! I use mine every single morning.... paired with Gillette labs gel or the Gillette Pro Series.
@sharpshaves Жыл бұрын
Hi Matt. Apologies, I should have given you a shout out as it was your suggestion. Yes - I think I agree that it is better than the ProGlide as a daily shave. Not much in it but the ProGlide seemed to deal with 3 days growth a tiny bit easier. I have some of the gel - again thanks to your recommendation. It is decent stuff. Smells great. I'll maybe do a video on creams / gels at some point. Thanks again for your comments.

@@sharpshaves The Pro-Glide is great!!! Nothing wrong with it at all!!! I Still use mine sometimes!!! I have gotten one can of the labs gel that was sub-par. It smelled musty and required a bit of water.... but I just figured it was one bad can.... I won't hate them for it.
@sharpshaves Жыл бұрын
That's strange to get a rogue can of gel ! Something fell in the vat at the 'lab' :-)

Great video. Aren't the replacement cartridges for the exfoliating and heated razor moreorless the same? I tried the one bladed Gillette guard razor you reviewed some weeks ago and I think it is excellent. Wish there were more one blade cartridge razors on the market.
@sharpshaves Жыл бұрын
Hi Edward. Thanks so much for the comment. Yes, just tried and the two are interchangeable. The heated has blue strips both sides whereas the exfoliating only has a white strip on one side.
@sharpshaves Жыл бұрын
And yes, the one blade cartridge is a gap to be filled I think with something decent.
@JimG7755 Жыл бұрын
I actually like them both. The Exfoliating razor is a great shave, but i hate the fact that technically the blades are proprietary. You can only use its blades or the heated blades. But nevertheless, both provide good shaves for a cartridge razor. JimG
@sharpshaves Жыл бұрын
Hi Jim. Cheers for the comment. Yes it is a decent shave. I feel like very few of the razors I try out have interchangeable blades. They all want you to think theirs is better and keep you hooked on them. That's what got me started trying to find the best one.
@mandy818416 ай бұрын
Thanks for making this video. My Dad bought one of these and we have no idea how to put the blade on. Any chance you could make a quick video or let us know how we can put attach the blade? Thanks so much!
The exfoliating feature might not be suitable for all skin types, especially sensitive skin.The Gillette Labs exfoliating razor offers an innovative approach to shaving with its built-in exfoliating bar. However, its higher price point and limited user experience data might make it less appealing to some consumers.
@sharpshaves5 ай бұрын
Yeah. Agree. All of these ideas are for sub sections of their market I guess. It worked well for me. Better than others but could be different for someone else.

Does the exfoliating bar give an equivalent or near equivalent results as a chemical peel ?

Hi there. I've never tried a chemical peel. Not even sure what one is to be honest. I doubt this does anything like that though. Thanks for the comment.

Currently £15 with gel and face cream box set in Sainsbury's 🎉 blades expensive so it's a case of wait for price cut. I still use Mach 3... I reckon after that Gillette were pretending more blades is good for you 😮
@sharpshaves6 ай бұрын
That sounds like it was a cracking deal. Yeah. My search started when they stopped doing the old sensor. Lots of marketing spin and gimmicks really now. The best shaves have been the most simple really.

New blades on both razors?
@sharpshaves Жыл бұрын
Hi yes - I was careful to put new ones in each when I was comparing. I used the same cream. Also compared using Gillette gel. Really not much in it - but as I say, I think the Exfoliating is a little bit better for a daily shave but the ProGlide just seemed to deal more easily with 3 days growth. Needed 3 weeks for me to reach that conclusion :)
@r0btech Жыл бұрын
I think the "exfoliating bar" is a gimmick, the act of shaving itself exfoliates the skin. Gillette is running out of ideas.
@sharpshaves Жыл бұрын
Yes, I completely agree. There is no way it would 'exfoliate' in any substantial way. I do think it is a good shave though. Not megabucks. Less of a gimmick than the heated one. What do you think of the shave? Eg compared to the ProGlide?
@hassyg4083 Жыл бұрын
shaving brush is the thing the exfoliates before the shave

@@sharpshavesI think both the proglide and the labs exfoliating razor offer a very close shave, it would be fair to say that they are probably the best razors on the market

Like everything else, it's a very poor shave compared to the results you get with a cutthroat razor. It's easy to see why - there's nothing between you and the blade, where these cartridges have guards and things so you can't get close to your skin.
@sharpshaves6 ай бұрын
Yes. Absolutely. I've only ever had a cutthroat shave at a barber. But it is the closest by far. The more blades and goo bars and the bigger the head, then its harder to get that lovely close feel. Cheers for the comment
@greasylimpet33236 ай бұрын
@@sharpshaves thanks for not taking that as a criticism of your video. I didn't mean to do that. It surprised me that the old razor still gives the best shave! They do take a bit longer than the others, but you've got to have a bit of time for yourself occasionally!
