I am treating myself once a month to some of my favorite comfort foods except modifying them to be all plant based. This is what we made for super bowl Sunday. The first part of our treat is messy burritos. We bought a mini processor and made a black bean spread using black beans, 1/2 clove garlic, nutritional yeast, Mrs. dash (onion herb), and processed with water. We bought sundried tomato basil tortillas and spinach tortillas. Then we layered the black bean spread, guacamole, veggie ground, fresh spinach, olives, and daiya cheese (which is casein free). Go Veggie cheese is not VEGAN!!! There are no GMO's in the soy used in daiya cheese. I used to make messy burritos with SAD foods when I was heavier. We could not find olives without ferrous gluconate, which is a preservative that is unhealthy for you. It was a little dry. We should have made salsa to go with it. We have a candid discussion on how the wraps made me feel afterward and discuss eliminating wheat. It is very important that you remember to read your labels. Watch "Forks Over Knives" to find out about the dangers of casein (a common ingredient in dairy). Later that evening during the game we made roasted cauliflower, salsa, guacamole, sliced cucumber and raw cashew ranch dressing. Those recipes can be found on our website. I hope you enjoy the video and that I didn't make you too hungry.

One of your best; I like your high energy vids, but this was a nice change of pace. Very laid-back and natural. I have that Ninja processor, and would be interested to know how you like it, since I just can't seem to get things processed correctly with mine, which may be defective. Thanks for the heads up on the go veggie, it's cheaper I think, and now I know why. I think I'll re-create your messy burritos this weekend, with corn tortillas, and gardin brand beef substitute. Can't wait for the recipe on the ranch dressing and the cauliflower poppers, and flatbread.

ellenalso thank you! Ninja processor is okay. Just have to tamp things down, like everything else. The recipes are on my website. Stevetcrider.com. The tortillas were bought at the store.

Steve, I carmelize onions and red bell pepper(which takes a little while) in alittle coconut oil ,add drained black beans. Put slices avocado and pico on top. I use lettuce or Ezekiel sprouted tortillas. I foil wrap the tortillas and warm to make more pliable. This one of my favorite meals.

7llazaren I hadn't thought about Ezekial sprouted tortillas. That's a good idea. Your recipe sounds awesome!

You could make your own tortillas. Only takes masa and water. Really easy & so much better than store bought.

Aura Gael well, that's the great thing about juicing, it's easy to find out what foods don't agree with you afterward. It's a learning process. And I'm sharing what I learn with all of you. I will do a video on the cauliflower the next time I make some. They were good

Steve T Crider I know. It wasn't a dig, just kind of a joke. I have been there so I know what it's like to go through that kind of thing. I'm super sensitive so it's been pretty easy to figure it out but it can still be frustrating.

Steve T Crider Those burritos look really good so you had bad reaction to the wheat? Are you going 30 on 30 off between juices or are you giving yourself a longer break?

Rich A yeah, the wheat make me feel "heavy" and my nose started running. I just generally felt "blah". I was going to try and stay raw for the next 30 days. We'll see how it goes. It's a lot harder this time around.

Steve T Crider I finished my 30 days and trying to do raw food as well. I am planning on doing the juice in the morning and eating salads to fill me up during the day. What issues hold you back or challenge you with staying on raw? I am going to do my best not to eat out as well.

Rich A my biggest challenge is finding a good raw salad dressing for my salads. I love dressing and I'm kinda picky. I don't like anything with vinegar and I don't want any oils and most all vegan dressings have vinegar and oil. I tried the nut made ones, but I can't get them creamy enough. The other issue I have is my mindset. Once I start back on solid foods, I just want to make all those cooked variations you see on the Internet. Also, it's been so cold and icy here lately that I really want warm food.
