The whole of Gillingham Business Park used to be an army camp. It got closed down and redeveloped. It's not surprising that the government should keep an interest in the area. It's interesting that although the 2 buildings look like warehousing units, although they have car parking there is no lorry handling facilities there.

I used to live in the area but don't ever recall there being an army camp there. Looks like it was Fort Darland/Gordon Barracks and the buildings were knocked down in the 1960's which would make sense as that was before I was born.

Kitchener Barracks were in Chatham on the same road as Brompton but the other side of Chatham Docks. Not relevant to your comment but they often had Gurkhas there and you'd see them in small groups in Chatham all wearing their blazers. Chattenden Barracks are sort of half way between Brompton and Milton Barracks. There was quite a lot of military in the area and lots of red road signs to tell you where they all were ;o)

Hey AB, I have done some contract work for HMRC and they do have what they call "Confidential" sites where these are in office complexes and industrial units. They also work along side the National Crime Agency and SOCA. I suspect the place you are auditing is a warehouse full of seized contraband
