We are using the mont marte acrylic pouring paints with one drop only of helmar silicone in each cup and stir well.
My friend Jilly is visiting me from UK at the moment and wanted to do a swipe as it normally stresses her 🤪

Extremely helpful video for people like me who have done pours, but not with balloons or other "utensils." Jilly, you're a good sport to do this on KZfaq for Gilly so that we can all learn. I love the bursts of colors in your finished piece!

Lovely to have a guest! She gives me courage and oh how I understand that anxiety of starting! Gilley, you have been so good to constantly remind me it’s just paint, if you don’t like it, scrape it off. I hope Jilly will try swiping again, but with a more horizontal angle of the swipe tool. Should result in less paint coming off at the end. Jilly gets HUGE cudos for being willing to me filmed. That took courage!

I couldn't agree more! I get so discouraged by the million mistakes I've made (with some gorgeous coloured paints)..So, it's nice to be reminded that it's just paint, and we learn from our mistakes..

Well done Jilly. I feel your anxiety. I keep trying that technique but I’m not getting the paint consistency right 🤦‍♀️. The finished result turned out pretty. Gilly, I knew I detected a British accent in there, hidden under the Australian one 😊

I enjoyed the process of Jilly's first swipe. I usually don't do well with stringy line swipes. The outcome of her first swipe was quite nice. Her first (agressive) balloon smush, in the corner, was fabulous! Bird O' Paradise The dried results were Very nice, i think I'll give baloons another chance. Thanks J & G

I love that your friendship is so strong after "so many" years. I say that because you're so young. Jilly has your eye for lovely colors. I love your painting, Jilly!!!! The colors are so pretty and I love, love, love the the twisted kisses, they have such a beautiful shape and look almost like feathers. I thought the initial result was really pretty! I'm guessing that a damp paper towel would have left on more of the navy, and given Jilly something closer to what she'd hoped for, but it's the things that don't "turn out" that teach us the most. I learned something about balloon kissing and "rolls" from this. So much to learn from teaching it to a student - I'd love to sed you with another willing pupil some time - if we ever get out of this pandemic and you can have someone else with you! Thanks Gilly/Jilly!💝

My dear Jilly, I've had to learn to not be critical, only been at it a couple weeks! This turned out gorgeous! I would love this in my home! You have great potential I can see! I learned when doing a swipe to have one foot in front of the other, so when I move back I can more steadily.
