And the funny thing was that the producers wanted Sherilyn Fenn for the character but she couldn't make it at the time. She had two minor roles in the series, though: Jess' father partner and Luke's daughter mom. But I know the show wouldn't have been the same without Lauren as Lorelai.

Where's Melissa McCarthy? This show was criminally overlooked by the Emmys, probably because it was on the WB/CW. Award worthy writing and Lauren, Kelly and Edward Herrmann all deserved recognition for their performances.

The emmys were GREAT at ignoring/overlooking shows on The WB and UPN. I mean gems like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Veronica Mars, and Gilmore Girls were all judged without actually watching the substance in the shows.

do you know the 90s show "picket fences"? it was so good. lots of quirky characters in a small town and weird storylines. I believe it was in the same universe as the med drama "chicago hope". I can only recommend. so good. also "northern exposure". equally quirky and unbelievably good. jewish new york doctor moves to small town in alaska to work off his student loan. I loooooved that show!

I was 4-11 when this show ran. It was one of those shows that would be on the tv but I didn't really pay attention to because I was playing with toys or drawing. I just finished the series on netflix and I can't wait for the revival!!!

Same here! I was about 13 when it ended but it was one of those shows that I would put on and watch when it was on. And I saw a few eps here and there I knew stuff about what happened and I saw bits and pieces of the show but I had never seen every ep until this year when I decided to binge watch it. I fell more in love with the show than I ever was. 💜💜

Same here, I use to "watched it" but seeing as I was 8 I didn't really pay attention till like the 3rd and fourth season as it was on late so I didn't get the watch it very often lol.. Now I'm almost 24 and can't wait for the new episodes!

I didn’t watch much of anything during that time, at least the first few seasons, since I was in grad school. But I heard a classmate saying something about it, and later, after I graduated, I started watching it somewhere, I don’t remember what season! But I did think it was hilarious, and so did my dad! I moved closer to my family and so we watched it together when I visited. He always said, “They talk so fast!” 😃 I don’t remember when I got to see the whole series, but I’ve seen it SO many times now, I can talk with the characters. :) I liked “Year in the Life”, but I expected more Gilmore Girls characters and it was lacking in that. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I wish there’d been more of Lane, and the band; and that stuff with Alex Kingston (who I like) just felt random. So did Rory’s love life. But I’m glad she didn’t end up with Logan, but I hated that it ended like it did. Good stuff for Emily, though!

I started watching this show when I was 6, because my mom was a fan. Then, as I got older, I watched reruns and became a fan myself. I have rewatched Gilmore Girls in different stages of my life and everytime, I fall a little more in love with this show. I hope to have a daugther one day, so I can watch it with her just like my mom and I did.

When I first watched the show about about a year or two now I instantly fell in love with the storyline and characters this is honestly one of the best shows I’ve ever seen- and I’ve seen a lot😂 if there ever is a movie that comes about I will honestly cry😢

When I started watching the show a few months ago I immediately fell in love with it and all the characters. Absolutely adore it bc nowadays there exists plenty of shows and yet this is one the best!! Netflix did a great job showing this show and also the final final ending was magical and I'll miss watching this show 😢❤️

I just start watching the repeats of Gilmore Girls in 2020. Where was I when this was on. Now I’m a fan. All the characters are so amazing. My favorite of all is Luke because there’s a little Luke in me. But I love all the main characters. Hope for another movie. And R.I.P. to Edward Hermann. I know it was hard to do a movie without you. You’re surely missed.

I grew up with Gilmore Girls playing on our TV, I knew the theme song but I never really watched it..back then. Lol until 2020, I binge watched all 7 seasons plus the extra ones within 4 weeks 😂🤣... I am most certainly now a Fan too. ❤️

I just started watching this show a couple of weeks ago and I'm halfway through Season 2. Until now I had only seen Edward Hermann in "The Lost Boys" but he was perfect in Gilmore Girls. Many thanks to UpTV for constantly showing the commercials and getting me interested in the show!

@Bryndon Crowder exactly! Like he was such a jerk in the beginning and was not right for Rory at all, like the way he would treat her at times, was like nah! Sure he grew up, matured and got himself together in the later limited episodes they did, but Rory and him just don’t go together. 🙅🏼‍♀️
