This Gilmore Pattern Master Impact Sprinkler is one of my favorite DIY sprinklers that is made for above ground sprinkler systems. I purchased the 196SPB Pattern Master Impulse Sprinkler several years ago (brown base, not sure if the one you have replaces this one). The one I have currently sells for about $42 on amazon vs yours which sells for $25 (Amazon). it's not a bad sprinkler, BUT: 1) the impact hammers are not as heavy as metal and some other plastic one; therefore they are less effective in rotating the nozzle around and it will pause and in some cases does not move. I am also guessing that the spring on the shaft that aids the return of impulse may be weak. 2) I don't recall it ever shooting 50 feet - mine seems to only shoot about 20' - we are on a town system so water pressure is not an issue. 3) The distance adjusting ring is brittle and starting to crack (again, plastic) - When I am done using it, I make sure to clean it and store indoors (or in my garden shed). I have an older "inexpensive" sprinkler that out-performs this one and rotates/reacts very fast. as well as a metal "spike" impulse sprinkler with similar performance. Although you may not to customize the distance the water is thrown, they seem to be a better option over the Gilmour pattern master for both distance and sprinkler head action.

I’m just watching this. My question is was it worth the money? I’m in need of a new sprinkler but not sure what to purchase. But definitely curious about this one

I have been using these for years. They do work great but there is one problem. Quality. They are cheaply made and are fragile. You don't want to drop one of these. I've learned over the years to have two of them - one front and one for the back because eventually one of them will break and I'll have a spare on hand.

I got one of these, how tight do you turn your screw in for the stream? I put mine in the whole way lol but I live in a very nice modular home park

I only adjust that a little into the stream or fine tune adjustments as needed.

Nope. I still use them. I wanted to review this sprinkler as I really like it. I use it mainly for my back yard.

I use the Pattern Master and like it but it tends to move in the grass. I’m trying to figure this out.

In your situation, can you just connect two masters instead of moving it? What are the cons to this?

Yes. You’ll lose some distance but not much.

How long does it take to get around a 1/2 inch of water when you’re watering your 5,000 sq ft backyard with it almost set to 360 degrees? With my water pressure and GPM it would probably take me like 5 hours

Jay Boo if you have low GPM flow it won’t matter what sprinkler you use. It’ll take the same amount of time to water in that big of an area.
