0:35 - I love Liam calling out that trope of character in stories not explaining their plan ahead of time. It's usually pretty unrealistic for characters that actually care about success to not coordinate with each other, instead wanting to impress the others on their team in the moment or whatever possible motivation they might have. Dariax is one of the few characters where this does seem fully in character, not for meta reasons like a storyteller wanting to hold back a surprise from the audience. (Dariax in-world has that motivation, assuming that will impress fate, perhaps.) Players sometimes do it in the main Critical Role campaigns, presumably due to their own storytelling instincts. Or maybe they think their characters don't know how to talk about their class abilities? It always seems dumb to me when a tight-knit party doesn't talk about important details of what they can do when they're preparing for something. (It certainly does happen more often than not on CR, but I find it silly on the rarer times when characters don't describe what they're going to do in useful ways. I guess for some, the first time they use a new class ability or spell, they're maybe RP that the character didn't know how it would work in detail.) Anyway, this trope is super common in TV and movies, and makes me think the characters deserve to fail with that too-cool-for-school attitude. Except for Dariax, he's *not* someone that should know better :P
