I wasn't aware that the Bucks were seriously looking at Nick Nurse, and Giannis said no thanks. If this is actually true, Giannis is really dim when it comes to coaching and roster management. Bucks management needs to stop listening to Giannis. He has no idea how to build a championship squad around him. Nurse, with his high intensity and details to offensive and defensive schemes would have been the perfect fit in Milwaukee.

I am a Die hard Celtics fan and Love Doc, But Gil is 100% right, 2008 the first 2 rounds we won zero games on the road against much less talented teams. Doc was lucky he had Rondo, Pierce, Ray, and KG but I blamed the refs and homecourt for losing in 2010 but I am sure now Doc had a hand in that one too. Coach Spo and even Brad Stevens I hold to way higher standard since you can tell they watch film and try every lineup and make very good adjustments. Doc is a great leader but losing that many 3-1 leads is not a good look.

When Doc closers, he won a championship and reached another Finals. Clippers had NO CLOSER. Philly had NO CLOSER. Of course, the head coach gets a chunk of the blame for blowing series leads but same time PLAYERS have to play. This is the NBA. Mfers aren't robots out there. If something isn't working the players have the ability to do something else. The players didn't rise to the occasion. Dame and Giannis are closers in the highest order. Watch what they do in a closeout game.

Players rely on the gameplan and strategy that was set up by the coach, and its easier to be a closer when the gameplan helps. Just look at the difference in GSW after they hired Steve Kerr. Do you think GSW would have won any rings if they still had Mark Jackson or if they hired Doc as their coach? Embiid is a beast and could have been a closer if you put a good strategy around him, instead of just giving him the ball 19 feet from the basket and having the rest of the team just standing around. ALSO, players usually practice those same strategies the whole season, they can try something else in the playoffs if things arent working, but you cant expect them to completely change from what they have been practicing, especially the bench and the role players.

I wanted them to explain the thought process on the Bucks making the decision hiring Doc Rivers. I mean they all know the stuff Gil and Kenyon mentioned. But what is it that make team keep hiring Doc Rivers over and over? Is it simply Doc kick ass in interview and selling the front office? A great salesman?

Croc Rivers is a charismatic weasel that has ESPN pushing his name for every job. He's the go to diversity hire for teams trying to look woke and progressive. To us critical NBA fans, we can see he is an underachieving failure of a head coach. However, the media absolutely adores him because of his dramatic and player first behaviour. I remember watching Croc cry after that idiotic criminal Jacob Blake got shot, Doc said, "Why do we keep loving this country when this country doesn't love us back?" Right there and then, I knew Doc was only an emotional simp of a man. He's not a strategic thinker, nor does he collect data before making a decision. He is an emotion first head coach. It shows in his coaching. ESPN loves Croc because he is an overly emotional black simp coach pleading for the white man to love him or give him a job. These owners follow the liberal leftist mandate. Watch media outlets commend the Bucks for hiring Rivers. ESPN and CNN especially.

@@Fucunt I get you mean. But apparently this what Aria AI thinks, "head game elite," they are typically referring to someone who is exceptionally skilled at providing oral sex. The phrase "head game" is a slang term for oral sex, and adding "elite" emphasizes that the person is highly proficient or talented in this area. It's a colloquial way of praising someone's abilities in this aspect of sexual activity.

It's amazing when a Coach allow players to play they make all the excuses and blame it on the coach. Isn't CP3 supposed to be the greatest leader? Why do you need a coach? He had work with Ben Simmons who isn't a player. Gil never been to a finals at all. I thought it was a players league? These guys have the excuses for why they lose and blame it on the coach and then they will say it's a players league. Doc puts them in position it is the players that need to execute.

@AdamEdn 5 ай бұрын
I don’t think you are disagreeing as much as you believe you are. His entire point is that given the talent and opportunities Doc has had - he damn well had better be the 9th all time winningest coach at least. Also, the 08 Celtics had a starting 5 made of 4 no doubt hof killers in their primes. The best Milwaukee has is a lesser version of KG and Ray Allen tbh
@gringoboy701
@gringoboy701 5 ай бұрын
You literally proved Gil's point. He's had more generational talent than any other coach in the history of the game. That's exactly why he can have successful seasons. Talent alone can carry a team in the regular season where there are less x's and o's. So winningest coach is simply a result of the product of the talent, not of his coaching. Coaches skillset comes into play during playoffs, not the 82 game season.

I love how Doc is the reason those teams didn't do more. If Chris Paul had not gotten hurt during that playoff run I think they would have gone to the championship and possibly could have won it. He had Simmons in Philadelphia and that squad in Orlando had two Hall of famers that were either hurt or didn't have help. Boston played against some good teams and Ray left. It's not fair in my opinion to put all of the blame on him. If you are not going to put everything into context like who they play and everything that happened per game of course you can easily sit here and say he is a bad coach. All three of these guys had character issues so makes sense they speaking bad on him. Doc is making millions of dollars every job he goes to. I am quite sure he could give a damn about all of his naysayers
