I like watching your tutorials to see if I can guess the steps/procedures you're going to use to achieve whatever effect the tutorial's for, and I find that usually, I'm pretty close, but I usually end up learning something anyway. lol Anyway, keep up the great tutorials & inspiration!

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I can't get the Lincoln shape filled with the text. Otherwise, great videos! I suppose I'm not paying enough attention lol.

im using a mac. when im deleting the first image it only selects and then when i delete the text it doesnt save the image it just turns white.

thanks for the tutorial by the way is there a way to set up zooming with a wacom pen? (my left hand is always on the keyboard, so using a ring on a tablet is not an option) for now im using Z for zooming out and X for zooming in but may be there is a sort of "scrubby zoom" like photoshop has? like when you holding Z and moving pen up and down?

Hello I followed you tutorial over and over, when I get to the part to delete the 5he black layer and 5he the text all the text gets deleted and dies not stay where the black is?

At 5:22 you did something that is different than the step you did just before it. You state first you delete the layer , then you say the word delete but you do not hit the same button. I was following you on my mac , so far so good up till that point, but after that second delete my text did not form Lincoln like yours did. Please help , love this effect !!!!

wow i have tried to duplicate what you did at 5:23 on the mac, but when you said just hit delete on the keyboard , it doesnt work on the mac, wish you would offer some assistance. would love to follow some more of your videos but i got this far in and cant get past this part. please help.

What if you Image is floating in the middle of the alpha layer (or rather the "White" Layer?)? up until its time to do the second lettering My image (white is a image of my head) Doesnt lemme invert or rather when i do it doesnt do what yours does. With im assuming is cause the Black hits the edge of the workspace. What do i do?

JJay Nikodem hey dude, I've found how to get the words with image, it's simple, first you have to delete the layer with the image with de delete button (the little trash can in the layer menu options) then when you delete the layer with the words you have to do it with the delete button on your phisic keyboard! Sorry for the bad English thou

How come your Gimp app looks so much different from mine? 🤔 Mine has a white background and the side toolbars are not connected to the middle part of the screen.

you can go to windows and then click on single window mode for the toolbars to be coneccted .But Idk how hes Gimp is Different in looks

just look on his website or google it..he tells you and it can just be googled at this point. you can do it in Inkscape as well to make it a black theme

That can be done in Inkscape, although it would have to be done manually and would take some time. I would convert the text to paths then use the bend effect (Path > Path Effects -> Bend)

I can't get this to work, when I press the delete key on the keyboard nothing happens and using the button deletes the layer. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I used control + delete on my mac and it worked. If anyone else runs into a similar issue.

GIMP itself is not dark; it's the dark theme I'm using for Ubuntu, which makes everything dark. Info is in the description.

the problem is the delete thing i think. for some people it just doesnt work by pressing "delete"
