@avesraggiana7 жыл бұрын
I don’t care for the pianist at all. His selections and his playing are at odds with the very, very specific rhythmic impulse that must be in the music that supports each Vaganova technique exercise. The way he’s playing makes these Russian dancers look as though they’re attempting to look like American dancers, which isn’t bad, but it is a completely different way of moving.
@SuperLilimarlen7 жыл бұрын
And don´t you think that perphaps this is the point of this class.. moving in a different way?
@avesraggiana7 жыл бұрын
SuperLilimarlen I don’t know, Fateyev’s class seems incoherent and pretty confused in its intent, in this clip.
@alecsia967 жыл бұрын
We're discussing the pianist's ability to change from one tune, style and rhythm to the next with such ease and precision, not the way the dancers are moving. BTW this class seemed to be like a cardio training session, in that sense that they don't stop moving one second. I remember doing those some months before RAD exams, stamina improvement. Heartbeat on the mouth for one hour. But Fateyev wasn't very inspired that day, i guess. Lol

Will you be dancing at the Royal Opera house this July/August? Was going to drive to St Petersburgh for the hell of it (once in a life time holy grail trip) but then found out 'you lot' are coming here & managed to get three brilliant tickets in Donald Gordon Grand Tier for three separate nights on my own as everyone I know are morons where Ballet is concerned & don't understand my passion for the Kirov Ballet. Also got a backstage pass for one afternoon. Not really interested in backstage 'stuff' per se just wanted to get closer to you lot. Still Can't believe I'm going to see Oksana Skorik all three nights & please don't tell me she is a friend of yours as you will make me even more envious of where you are & what you do............ @@pediatrapaola-Oksana Skorik turned out to be one of the best dancers in the world -- pliability, flexibility, extensions, steely strength, turns, and yes, even artistry. The orchestrated bullying campaign against her, long ago disappeared into the shadows, as the bullies started to understand the error of their ways!
@normamimosa59914 жыл бұрын
A comment such as yours motivates one to find out about your experience in the ballet scene. So I took a look at your profile. I point out to you that many of the individual ballet students you have featured (all apparently from the same studio) are highly lacking in the art of dance. They are simply gymnasts, and highly unlikely to ever become well known principal dancers if they ever even manage to be accepted into the corps of any of the top companies. As for the Mariinsky, they wouldn't have a hope in hell. I also point out that one of the key qualifications for a principal or soloist is to be able to quickly follow combinations, no matter how complicated or strange.
