Not sure about that. I have 3 cats and when I go away for a few days, the minute I take out my suitcase, they become stressed and while I am away, my son tells me they are not the same as usual, meowing and looking for me. Cats are not as demonstrative as dogs, but the cuddles and kisses are there. Love comes in many ways !!!!

I had to part with my best friend as i moved to an elderly community not allowed to keep pets which i find very frustrating but it could not be helped i miss her so much i cry every time I watched the reunion of dogs and the people who are their favourite friends i need a good cry now and then!!!

I thought I was abit weird in saying one of my dogs was a soul mate, but he truly was. Had him for 14 and a half years. He's been gone for over 5 years and I still pine for him. I feel for you. You have as much empathy as I can give in a message. 🙂🙂🙂

I am right there with you. My husband refuses to have any more furry friends cuz I can't take care of them due to my disabilities and my family doesn't want to. I miss my babies so much.

Those of us that have cats in the house understand. My daughter's cat hides most of the day until it's time for my daughter to come home. When she comes out and sits on the stairwell I know my daughter will be pulling into the driveway at any minute. My sincere condolences for the lost of a family member.

I am so sorry for your loss,i have a doggie and 3 cats,and lost last oktober my girly st bernard, her name was Lola just 5 years ,she died in our arms,we are hartbroken,still are today,so we know what you are going too now,we have lost in the past some kitty,s too, we 🤫 still mis them every day,other people say ,you get use too it...but they don,t say when, ...your kitty knew that you were with her tiĺl she felt asleep,she,he loved you for that..Ruud from the netherlands, much strengt for you, you cat is always naar you when you think of her,him im sure. That is so true TAS. Nothing like coming home after a terrible day and have them jumping on you, licking your face, just being playful. All the frustrations of the day just go away at that point. I miss my 2 best friends terribly. This is so heartwarming..

Oh i feel your pain Paula, i've been there myself twice. You lose a part of yourself with the loss of a beloved pet. Some people just don't understand.

my mates dog called Milo, sometimes he has wee a little bit cos hes been that happy to see me, like i love him the world, i cant describe the love i have for him, i tell him that everytime as well, i will always remember this, so i was giving him a bit of chicken from my hand and he was just licking it, he didnt take it from me and i wondered why, and my mate told me it was cos he doesnt want to bite my finger by accident, well i nearly cried lol, like dogs give us so much love and joy and everything and all they want in return is a loving home and the fact some people abuse dogs totally baffles me, like how could you abuse an animal that will be so happy to see you when you have left the house for 5 mins haha

Their sense of smell is amazing! Yes, they remember you from that smell!

I remember my parents taking me to some relatives house when I was very young and they had a dog. I played with the dog the entire time I was there and when we went back to visit them again 6-12 months later the dog remembered me.

I lost my girl in January of 2022..hardest day of my life, and I swore I wouldn't get anymore dogs because of the heartbreak of losing them.. fast forward 6 months, and I swear my girl sent me a dog who needed me, as much as I needed him...I rescued him, he was used as a bait dog in a dog fighting ring...that's all he knew for the first 2.5 years of his life, he now has a loving home with me, he goes everywhere I go and I swear to you, some of his mannerisms and things he does, are identical to my girl, so that is why I think she sent him to me.
