I just love how little pretense there is in simon's videos. all the panicking in time pressure, playing bad moves, it's all so familiar to the rest of us. so many other chess streamers hide their bad games and their real personality, engaging in petty hostility like 'pins of shame' for imagined slights because they're so fragile. but with simon it's all so real all the time. simply the most human GM there is. and the amazing attacks that seem to come out of nowhere, how can anyone not love this stuff?

Haha the pinned comments thing. Early in his channel I told Levy I didn't want to watch him and Hikaru chew their dinner from stream clips, and that was why I unsubbed. Levy pinned the comment and I took it as a compliment, because it's just good advice to swallow your food before you speak. Eating while presenting is just low class anyway

Com doesn't like Kramnik. An indictment from Kramnik is almost a shield against suspicion in so far as com's opinion is concerned. Danny and the CEO guy are extremely enthusiastic about defending players Kramnik thinks are dirty.

I've been learning Dutch the past few months and finding it a lot of fun and getting good results other than d4.f5.e4 the Staunton Gambit, that variation is tricky I need to study is a lot more or do what Simon does and play e6 instead of f5 and do the French if they play e4

Bad motor scooter you is. I do believe these comontaries are worth watching for all level of players. Many folks aim at lower players because they get a larger audience but you do a GREAT job of speaking to all as you play. WELL DONE on all levels. You are a genuine asset in the midst of many posturing fools.

your mouse sensitivity (DPI) is too high man. you would be faster if you just use slower sensitivity and a bigger mousepad if you don't have one. you always overshoot and have to correct back to the square you want when moving fast so maybe take the sens down a bit. Then you will gain confidence in less blunders and hence be a bit faster in scrambles. I know you think this aint it and you're just slow and can't be helped, but I disagree haha. Thanks for the content even if you quit, it's fun to think along.

Maybe Simon is cheating with his quirks? Stockfish deliveres his wild demeanor and pushes Harry to the wolves. LeelaZero is ghost writing lines like DEE VAY DEE and Put that up your pipe! Komodo gets drunk and teaches Simon how to act as if has hangover. Its all scripted by engines!

Simon plays such crazy exciting attacking chess that engines absolutely hate. How can he be accused of cheating ? I believe Krammers even analyzed a Paul Morphy game not knowing who played and reported him for cheating. Love this stream ! However ,cats and chess dont mix well, an issue I have had for over 40 years.

Simon if you want to quit smoking there's a book you should read called " Allen Carr's Easy Way to Stop Smoking ". Over a dozen people I know quit from reading that book, including myself!

@@KF1 Allan Carr just breaks the illusion that smoking cast upon smokers. He disproves that smoking has any real benefits such as relieving stress, enhance concentration, or serving as a reward. But rather these thing related to dependance on smoking. He also mentions the way smokers are brainwashed by tobacco company's. i.e. movies making smoking look cool. He also promises that after reading the book, that you won't have cravings or require a substitute " vaping, patches, nicotine gum etc. " I had a couple books going in rotation to help people quit and I lost count of how many people quit after 15ish.

Re the Jospem vs Kramnik saga: They should play 3 different formats.... 3 mins with no increment 3 + 2 sec increment 5 + 3 sec increment It makes it far more rounded and would likely highlight the huge difference that increment makes. Jospem would kill Kramnik at 3 secs with no increment but I'd expect Kramnik to likely win the 5 + 3....

In game #2 when your Queen was threatened to being trapped, why didn't you move your Queen to f4? That was the only free square.

Putting it in the engine shows that that's a worse move. I mean, it hangs a free B but I am not sure why it's worse than losing a Q for a B. Perhaps black's dark-square B was very good, so getting it off was worth it. Another question would be practical chances for making the position complicated and making black's path as narrow (sharp) as possible. If anyone can shed more light on this, I'd appreciate it too.
