It has been exceptionally rare to catch any trains this far along the LakeShore Spur just east pass Grantham Avenue in St. Catharines until recently.
As they're was almost no evidence if any of the Lakeshore Spur tracks being used during the time of covid-19 pandemic (in 2020) and prehaps even earlier.
However as recently as March 2023 some railfans like @mandcsdad1 have spotted Gio Railways began to start using an out of service section of track on the LakeShore Spur for storing boxcars.
Later we too while casually cruising through the area also witness this unusual movement. As we spot Gio Railway #1859 go in to pull out a string of boxcars in storage just east of Grantham Avenue. THE DEAD ZONE and retrieve a couple boxcars for a nearby industry.
While this was an amazing moment. It still makes us wonder if Gio Railways will be able to entice a former customer "Canadian Erector" to come back to the track service on the LakeShore Spur.
Only time will tell as we remain hopeful at that prospect.
Thanks for watching!
