I just discovered this WONDERFUL and AMAZING singer yesterday via the 1976 Il Trovatore. I love baritones, and after one listen he became a favorite. Thank goodness KZfaq has lots of videos for me to savor. What a gift!

Thank you so much for sharing this piece with us. When i saw Mr Giorgio Zancanaro sing in your video clip, i was reminded of the many evenings when he was still singing in Vienna. Hearing his voice again after so many many years made goose bumps ran over my back, tears dwelling up and i think i didnt even take a breath because i was so mesmerized. Thank you for sharing this personal moment!

The general public don't know what classical singers actually sound like - a voice on a distant stage doesn't have any kind of familiar context. It's when they're heard up close, as in a practice room for those who work with them or in a close-up kitchen video situation as we have here, that the sheer size of the voices becomes apparent.

Ci sono baritoni bravi anche oggi. Il problema è che spesso quelli più potenti ed esaltanti non vengono riconosciuti purtroppo.

Non posso che confermare quanto già sostenuto : GIORGIO ZANCANARO resta nel panorama della LIRICA MONDIALE tra i grandi interpreti.Con vent'anni di meno poi sono certo avrebbe chiuso la romanza col SOVRACUTO! Grande Maestro!!!
