Also, I resent Adrienne remarks about “handling” you period stuff...because a lot of women (including myself) deal with endometriosis and our periods aren’t regular cramps they are deadly..worse pain I’ve experienced and I had a child naturally..and those shits can last for more than 5-7 days...that’s why on these open forums you have to be so careful to be inclusive...I still love you Adrienne 😘

Mocha Monroe Media thank you for bringing this up ! My cousin has the same condition..her cycles are extremely heavy and she would end up really sick during her time of the month. Some women don’t have a “Normal” Period..For women with pcos and endometriosis their cycles can be very debilitating! Sis i certainly understand!

Adrienne just needs to learn to use her words better because it sounded to me like she was originally trying to get at the fact that women may have concerns that, instead of genuinely being taken into consideration, are still being shrugged off as PMS even if they've probably got their menstrual issues under wraps already and have bigger things going on all the time that do deserve proper attention. She spoke against calling everything PMS but she went too deep into the idea of women being able to handle it all instead of just staying on the fact that it's weird and disrespectful to even be calling someone out for potentially being in that time of the month.

@@1989menutheiswhat lol you say that as if most doctors actually take women seriously when it comes to menstrual issues. Most doctors do not care what a women goes through when it comes to their menstrual cycle. They think women are just "overreacting". It often takes women years to get a doctor to take them seriously in this regard. Women with disorders such as pcos and endometriosis often don't get diagnosed for years after bringing it up to their doctors because like I said, they aren't taken seriously. Seeking help for menstrual issues is often not a simple thing. Also, some people can't afford to see a doctor in the first place depending on the country they live in. Not everyone has health insurance and it is very costly to see a doctor without insurance.

I’ve had two kids I feel like “handling it” means different things to different people but she’s right, if you know you’re hormonal and moody at a certain time, do something about it 🤷🏻‍♀️ that’s my me time, my man can make plans without me and I take care of myself and get through it without making women look bad. We can’t control what nature does to it but we can try our best to control this stigma about women being bitches on their period

I think she just means that when you get to a certain age you learn how to handle it... For instance, I start PMSing like 9 days before my perieod...but the day of, my back will start hurting, and then I know when I have to poop that day, my period is coming. So when I feel my back pain, I just go ahead and take my Aleve, stop drinking caffeine and head to the store to get some Reese's. Also the bleeding part, it gets to a point where you know, well my first day is going to be super heavy and my second day too...let me wear black jeans and get the overnight pads and I'm not hanging out tonight. Like you just automatically know what you gotta do.
@gmcwain

@@heritage.home.crochet I feel you on that but see you and I know how to handle it or know the signs etc.... She's never experienced any of the things we have because she has said several times that she's never had PMS. Which is a blessing, I'm sure any woman would agree but she can't just say to us we should have it under control because I'm sure as you know. Our periods can be very Unpredictable and come and go when it wants to lol and that is what causes major PMS 🤦🏾‍♀️ and she'll never understand that lol

My moods stayed consistent, I NEVER had cramps, and I didn’t notice any bloating - all while I had the heaviest periods to date. NOW, I’m in my mid 20s and it’s like overnight I started getting TEXTBOOK PMS symptoms. I was in awe. I felt so bad for saying all those dismissive things about PMS when I was younger. Adrienne’s comment really bothered and offended me. All women have different problems when it comes to that time of the month. There sum who only get it for 3 days w/ hardly no cramps and mood is fine, but then u have the ones who get it irregular, for a week, very heavy, horrendous cramps and no matter how hard u try 2 control moods u can’t. Endometriosis is no joke some women hav 2 get surgery b/c of it. I feel women who don’t really hav bad periods make these type of remarks but the ones who have or had BAD periods they sympathize with u.

Try myo inositol, Ive taken it for 3 months and ive had 2 regular cycles that are far shorter than what I was used to before..prior to starting it my last cycle was going on 80 days and was induced with progesteron pills. Its worth a try, amd there are a few studies that show it does work for women with menstral irregularities and PCOS. My natrual cycle was around 35-40 days, with the pills Im around 30-35 days which means things are getting better with them.

I think the whole idea of it being “ disgusting “ it’s something natural that all girls and women go through... trust me , I wasn’t shy to it... I had three sisters and a mother and I had to deal with being their listening ear on how bad the pain was , bring them all types of snacks , and be there by their side... I was the only brother in the house that wanted to help but I just didn’t know what I was getting myself into 😭 I lowkey regret it... but I do feel for women... you ladies still have to live life even when you want to curl up in a ball and cry and etc.

No one should be embarrassed etc, it's only a period, it's completely natural, normal. Do what makes you feel good, what's comfortable for you and your body. Its about you not anyone else, we're all different. I think sanitary products should be free or atleast very cheap. Women should be aloud to have off days of they feel like they can't work etc. Periods take a lot out of you. We should put the health and happiness of women first. Pads, cups, tampons etc whatever, no one should be shamed. Do you boo.

I called my mom and told her I needed pads. She was shocked because we never had that talk but it wasn't that big of a deal for me. I Even said "my vagina is killing me" in front of a male coworker to get him to stop bugging me. But I do feel embrassed having a tampon or pad in eye sight of a guy. I am with Tam I switched back to pads because of the toxic syndrome. I heard a woman last her leg over it.

I have PCOS and endometriosis, so for one theyre irregular some months its a few days to a few weeks late, the longest period i had was for 6 weeks CONSTANT going through one of the giant night time pads every half hour i was hospitalized and needed a blood transfusion... Periods have always been hard for me, i have a 4yr old and went through 19 hours of labor unmedicated before i got an epidural(which is a whole other story but i was bairly conscious because my body didnt handle it well and it was either an epidural or a csection.. I so badly wanted a natural labor and the decision was made by my momma and my fiance and im thankful they spoke for me because i wanted to avoid a csection at ALL costs) and some of the "cramps" are so extremely close to contractions. I also bled every month up until i was 8 months pregnant i didnt know i was pregnant unti i was 16 weeks! I love you Adrienne... But sometimes you physically cant just 'keep it pushing' or some women periods are fucking HELL. I wish i could wear tampons but they last 20 minutes max.
