Despite the large number of incidents and accidents that we have filmed and produced, it is unbelievable that some people still ride the bow with no life jackets on. Is this a Florida thing only?

No! There are stupid people all over. As the captain of a vessel it’s up to him to keep everyone safe. Weight distribution , speed and throttle are all key to manage waves ,swells and tidal conditions.

Hell even in the first video had the kid riding on the back bench on stern of the boat could easily have slipped off the back an into the water. Also wasn't wering a life jacket. SMFH

Ant decent captain would NOT allow anyone riding on the bow when entering or exiting an inlet, specially when it is obviously rough... that's just putting people at risk, period. I would not allow any child on a boat without a PFD either... just reckless. Loving the drone footage on the inlet, great views! Kep it up Wavy!

It's not the law in all states. In Florida, kids under 6 have to wear a pfd on boats less than 26ft and that is a bigger boat. But I do think that it should be required for certain ages, boat sizes and water conditions

Lots of little jet boats braving the waves. We looked at a well-priced Glastron, but the "jet" aspect is a little iffy at slow speeds. We've decided on a Cobalt R6. Not too big, but big enough for the ICW. Wake tower bimini versus the spindly aluminum struts. Nice boat, 2022 with 13 hours if you can believe that.

Do those little Searay bow riders not have a "trim up" button? People in those ALWAYS seem to be riding front end low and stuffing the boats. GET THAT FRONT END UP BY USING THE TRIM!!! It's so frustrating to watch. lmao 😂👍🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

My personal opinion is that everyone should be wearing a life jacket on a rough transition pretty much anywhere, doubly so if the current is strong. That said, I get it if you have a couple of people with experience and good handholds riding through it (e.g. a Capt and buddy in a center console). Kids should always wear life vests... You don't want that on your conscious.

It's illegal in Norway to be in a boat without a life jacket, both for children and adults. (we even have them for our dogs 😆)

@@WavyBoats You'd need to have a deal in place that when A customer mentions your channel, they get a $5000 accessories package when buying a Pardo boat, or something like that. Could be doable, but you'd need to get a contract with them, or the local dealer to advertise for the boats as you see them cruise by on the channel. 😁👍😎✌

100% on the PFD. That bow becomes super slick and can easily end up with a head injury or going into the drink. Bad move all around.

An axe bow like on the Pardo boat is very good in rough seas ("wave piercing"). It was invented in Bavaria and has proven itself worldwide. But building an ax bug on the one hand and the bow open on the other hand without a closed deck is stupid.

The reverse bow design is a terrible one for ocean going boats. 50’ boats shouldn’t see water over the bow in water only this rough. Prado are for posing really, they sit too flat in the water. Nice on a lake maybe.
