Over and over again, I always find myself praising this show. Jo always gets exactly to the root of it without treating the children like everything is on them, but without making the parents feel like they have to be perfect. And she very thoroughly understands that there is always something behind anger, lashing out, overwhelmed actions.

Dad is emotionally absent. He literally ran away when he started to FEEL something. All the children are affected by Mariah's disability - the littles act out to get attention, and Taylor stuck in the middle needs reassurance that she's beautiful and important like her older sister. I hope both parents will take some one-on-one time with each daughter.

Sometimes dads feel like it’s okay to bully their daughters. Laughing at her and picking on her when she walks past because he doesn’t like the way she looks... unnecessary comments like that can make you feel bullied and uncomfortable in your own home. It’s the worst feeling when your biggest critic is your dad

He doesnt want to put in the consistent work to create boundaries + consequences for the younger girls, he'd rather micromanage the teen girl just trying to express herself through her appearance, even though the younger girls are physically endangering themselves and the family while the teen girl at worst will damage her hair, maybe stain the bathtub, and get eyeliner all over the pillowcases 🙄

What saddens me is no one asked how Mariah was affected. She wasn’t even asked how she felt. Even Jo said she was in that wheel chair too much. All the attention went to her sisters. She couldn’t even do her sessions with the mom. I really hope they are truly committed to thier family in the future. Mariah deserves it, they all deserve it. Family should be forever.❤

Wow moriah is such an amazing person. I used to be an aide for disabled elderly and i can count on one hand the amount of clients i had that had her patience and resolve (and well only one client that I can remember). I still had my boundries but I knew that if I was in their position I would be waaaay worse. Just being there brought me to tears regularly, let alone me actually putting myself in their positions. I respect her so much. Wow

My mother was just like that, she would find all the flaws she could in my body, my clothes, anything I liked, even the people I talked to. This led me to avoid being near her the most I could and today, I literaly feel unconfortable and even disgusted sometimes when she tries to be "caring" towards me. Our relationship is near to non existing and she destroyed any self steem I've ever had. Like you said, my dream since I was 10 years old was to get very far away from her and I finally did it.
