Our oldest boy Carson just joined the Air Force to be an Air Traffic Controller. Before he went in, he asked if we could fly him and his girlfriend Alaina around on her first general aviation flight. We loaded up with them, the two younger boys and all flew from Chicago Aurora Airport to Griffith (05C) to eat at their on site Mexican restaurant. After dinner we flew the Chicago skyline and back home.

Wow, incredible views. Very jealous, I’m from the Uk, I have been lucky enough to visit your wonderful country over 30 times but am prevented from visiting again until you open up to us here in the UK. I don’t fly, but love flying, it’s a passion. I spend hours on flight sims(sad I know). Sharing your flights allows all of us that don’t fly, but love it, to the live the dream through you both. Yeah, I've spent a number of hours flying circuits out of Miegs field in various Microsoft Flight Sims, and looking at that skyline. First time I've ever seen it in real life from the same angle as I saw it on the sim!

Nice flight! My son is a controller at Cleveland Center awaiting full certification. It takes a special breed to do ATC. I listen to his frequency when he's on, never ceases to amaze me handling 24000' and above. Hopefully he'll be able to do the flipside and learn to fly.... congrats to your son and the Air Force!

Best wishes to Carson! Thank you for serving our great nation! My older brother joined the AF in 1977 and was a controller at a Strategic Air Command base in NH. His AF experience helped him grow and prepared him for other career moves later on.

1BC is still my favorite flying channel for this reason they do it all no matter what happens and includes the family and friends such great video quality flight commentary so up it was so much fun to see this flight you had a full plane load big time great job from the git go. Hey, Kevin, That was a nice flight with the family. As a US Army Veteran, I want to thank Carson for his volunteering to go into the Air Force. Our Air Force needs good young men to step up and be proud to serve their our country. We wish him God Speed, and best of luck in his training as an Air Traffic Controller. It makes a Dad very happy when a son follows his in Father’s footsteps. I’m sure you and Jamie were good examples for him, and, with your encouragement, he will make you proud. God Bless. Man... I remember when my boys both went off to the Airforce. One went to Hurlburt Field (AC-130U gunship electrician) and one went to Minot, ND (weapons handler ALCM and CALCM). Both did well and are in civilian life now. Best wishes to your son. I'm sure he'll do well.

You do a fantastic job with your content. I have no idea why you do not have millions of viewers and subscribers. Your videos are by far the best on KZfaq. Maybe it is just time. I have been trying to figure out how to help get the word out how great these adventures are and, how well you tell a story with so few words, along with great camera work and creativity. I love your channel, but this comment is a thank you related to a trip you took last year to Put in Bay. Your recommendation to eat at Goat Soup & Whiskey restaurant was spot on. The food, we ate the lollipop lamb chops and a great salad, was amazing and made the entire 2 1/2 days there really worth it. Tried out the Red Moon speak easy at the Park Hotel, too......really cool place. Thanks again. Hope to meet you at Oshkosh next year.

I had that same flight path north past Chicago on a commercial flight in winter at night. The air was super clear, the street lights, building lights, neon signs, headlights, all combined to be almost a religious experience. Never forget.

Still catching up with your videos but to acknowledge Jackson Browne, I am running into the sun and running behind, LOL! And like the song I was born in '48! Wow Kevin! The close of this video got me choked up a bit! Son following in Dad's footsteps is a path very familiar to me, following my own Dad into corporate business life after a four year career as an Air Force Meteorologist. Always wondered how the Air Force "finaled" me as a business student in 1970 into weather service, but it paid off handsomely with following success in business forecasting. After finishing my watch of this video I absolutely had to seek and play Daniel Fogelberg's "Leader of the Band". My 95 year old Dad and I still connect with that song!

Great content Sir. My wife and I flew on the Budweiser Blimp out of DuPage Co Airport back in 2003 and circled Wrigley for a couple hours. We took a similar flight path into and out of the city as you did with your plane, only at what felt like a snail's pace. Lovely seeing you all together again, apart from mini-Jaime#2, and all seats full this time! That's quite rare for 1BC. Thanks for the shoreline and city tour Kevin. A lovely skyline on a fine summer day. Much appreciated from covid-down-under NZL where my ads-b graphs shows me only 20 planes today flying in & out of Christchurch Int. Airport!
