He was haggling, he's probably used to that sort of behaviour overseas. That's why he suggested a discount, then instalments, then having the car brought back. Years ago I used to occasionally do work for Chinese guys on their car electronics, and they always were haggling over prices even during the installation.

Then the "...but you said you'd bring it back..." and I knew right then the guy was going to lose his cool. Jeff stayed calm way longer than I would have. Good job, Jeff!

I understand that it's cultural, but if they move here, they should realize quickly after a visit to a grocery store, Walmart, fast food, etc. in the USA that prices are set for goods and services and not negotiable. Do you fill your cart at the grocery store and then bargain at the checkout? This is no different. If you want the benefits of working in the USA - and I realize we need someone to do these jobs - then you need to adapt to our culture. Also, he was quite fluent in English when cussing out Jeff and making claims on things Jeff never told him like delivering his car.

Jeff - I used to work for Social Services. We were told that if people were going to scream or cuss at us to warn them and if they continued to hang up. I only had to do it twice in 10 years. Please do not feel bad. You never said you would bring it back.

I did telephone triage as an RN for over 20 years. Same thing only my calls usually involved people wanting early narcotic prescriptions refills. It involved a lot of lies, bargaining and begging which turned to cussing and threats when they realized they weren't getting an early refill. I gave a warning and then terminated the call. Some called back apologetic. Other complained to management or the doctors, but we were all on the same page and presented a united front and if they continued their behavior they were quickly terminated from the practice.

Right! I have seen so many horrible accidents involving wrecks where someone has had their feet on the dash and that will almost always result in broken hips and more often than not, alot more broken bones along with it. Feet and or legs out the window will almost always result in severed body parts. Don't ever hang something out a window or sunroof that you would like to keep....you would think common sense would tell you that but you'd be surprised at how often and how many people do these things.

For instance, last week in Atlanta, some idiot highjacked a county transit bus, drive from downtown Atlanta back north and wound up being stopped by the local SWAT TEAM, less than a mile from my house. 60 police in chase, 6 ambulances to tend to the hostages, and 2 fire trucks. Just 1 mile from my house is where they stopped him, and a mile away at my cross street there were 14 pd units on the traffic camera.

After hearing the conversation, you said that when he was ready you would meet him back at the lot. . . . maybe he heard that as that when he was ready you would meet him at the lot you took it from. . . in his defense you did say that you would meet him at "the lot" thinking from his side he was thinking the lot meant the lot you picked it up at, and your way of thinking you were meaning "the lot" as your lot. I could see how he could misunderstand you and the confusion with it. I do you Jeff credit, if I was dealing with it, I too would have hung up on him, but then I would have had a conversation with him when he picked it up about how to act as a adult.

I think that business should paint cross hatch markings on the pavement to protect the space. It does look like a perfect spot. Right size, line marking, other cars parked there, no sign immediately in front. I can understand why one would be confused about it. And, Jeff, I don’t know how you keep your cool most of the time. You have the patience of Job.

I filled out my Everything Autos bingo card with this guy, except for the 'some guy told me to park there!'. I am certain that if he talked more, he would have come up with it! I used to ride a bike three miles to work in Tucson Arizona heat because they didn't have on site parking for employees. This guy is just a jerk. I am guessing he won't work there long.

We just got back from Gatlinburg yesterday and I admit I got my eyes opened. Watching videos of the tows for the last year or so, I had a soft spot for some of the people that got towed. But after spending a week there and seeing all the lots you can pay to park in, for as low as $10 a day, there is no reason to get towed because you decided to try and save a couple of dollars and park where you should not have. It's almost like you have to go out of your way to park in a spot that will get you towed. Best of luck and stay safe out there.

Having worked in the ER and ICU’s I have seen many people with missing limbs from hanging out of vehicles. Remember in the 80’s and 90’s when men would hang their arms way out of the rolled down window with a cigarette? Yup!

We had a young guy who was out celebrating his Graduation from high school with his friends and stuck his head out of the vehicle .... and ended up being decapitated. They were just out having a good time. They were good kids who ended up being in the wrong spot at the wrong time. So sad 😞

pretty much everything he did with you was a negotiating tactic. I've encountered this many times before. Ask if that's the best price you can do. Ask if a discount is possible. Explain hardship. Explain personal hardship. Explain that you don't have that money and therefore it's impossible. Get you to say a lot of things. Accuse you of contradicting yourself. Get you to apologize for something anything. All of this calculated to get you to give them a break on the price. This is all very common. Practically boilerplate. And also it's important to point out that none of it is personal or for that matter real. He was going to go through this song and dance regardless of what the towing fee was and regardless of what you said. Some people just work that way.

You and Kristen always handle the toddler tantrums with class. He had been warned and there were plenty of signs. He knew he wasn't supposed to be there. But in the end he apologized, he got his car, and he learned a valuable lesson. I love your channel!
