Give Me An Answer with Stuart & Cliffe Knechtle

Cliffe Knechtle has a great conversation with college students at a campus in the southwest US.
The "Give Me An Answer" ministry began as an outgrowth of the dialogues Cliffe Knechtle has had with students on various university campuses throughout the United States. These universities include the University of Maine, Harvard, MIT, University of Florida, University of Texas, University of Wisconsin, University of Minnesota, University of California Los Angeles, University of California San Diego, Berkeley, Stanford, University of Hawaii and the University of Washington. Cliffe spoke on these campuses in front of the Student Union or Library at noon for five to ten minutes. At the close of his initial remarks, he'd open up the time for questions and answers, which usually turned into a two to four hour dialogue with students. His crowd size ranged from 25 - 500 students at a time, and between classes, new students would join the discussion. This was an extremely effective way to reach a large number of university students with the Gospel of Christ.

Tejendra Chapagain Most of the so called pastors today are teaching people the false doctrine of the Trinity ! The Trinity Doctrine = Breaking the 1st Commandment WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO WAKE PEOPLE UP ? And to Stop them from Denying Facts and Listening to the Lies… The Trinity doctrine is a creation of Satan and was brought into Christendom by the Catholic Church more than 200 years AFTER the Bible was written to steal souls from the kingdom. The souls lost will be anyone deceived enough to follow the Papal Church and Satan’s creation. Such people typically just ASSUME. The Bible was in fact written by Jews and the Jews have NEVER believed in the Trinity doctrine ! and they have NEVER taught that the Holy Spirit is a third god ! NOT in the beginning and still NOT today ! Not ever ! So how can the authors of the Bible be referring to a third god when they have NEVER taught or believed that ever ?! And yet most are so indoctrinated with the lie they will ignore this fact also. So brainwashed in fact the deceived say “GOD THE SON” and “GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT” and yet the Bible NEVER EVER uses these phrases ! Not EVER ! These phrases came from the CATHOLIC CHURCH, not the BIBLE ! Most of the so called Christians in this world are brainwashed and deceived ! They follow their Pastors and Religious Leaders ! NOT the Word of God. The indoctrinated and prejudiced will deny every fact and will respond with a variety of ignorance. And we wonder why most are going through the wide gate. The intelligent people will ask questions and will want to learn and see if this is true ! Most people are sheeple, so most will not ask.

The statements "There are no objective morals" and "Some morals are subjective" are both statements of objective morality -- correct or otherwise, they are both statements of objective morality. Therefore, the only rational conclusion is that objective morality is a true fact of life.

It records historically that slavery was a part of the ancient world. In fact, I have yet to find an ancient culture that didn't have people enslaved as a part of its culture. But as one reads the 66 books in a historical context, it becomes noteworthy how the Israelites got weaned off of slavery over time. Indentured slaves existed in ancient Israelite culture. Debts were repaid using this practice. Indentured servitude existed in the American colonies as well. I think we need to rethink this idea.

Why do people think it’s weird that books are written later. Name one time you’ve written down observed events and then shared and published the information? Now is having materials to write easier now or 2000 years ago.

According to Lee Strobel, a reporter who studied the gospels and all literature, who was an atheist and became a follower of Christ: Even though the Gospel of Thomas is perhaps the earliest, most popular, and best "Gnostic" Gospel around, it does not belong in the New Testament since it was written in the 2nd century at a time when all of the apostles of Christianity had already died. This 2nd century date of composition is demonstrated by (1) its dependence on more than half of the New Testament writings (2) its likely mid to late 2nd century Syrian influence (3) its heretical nature with Gnostic overtones (4) its lack of references from early church fathers or 1st century witnesses (5) its disagreements and variations from the 1st century context of the New Testament gospels (6) its self-conscious promotion as an apostolic book which reflects a later time period.

We should not establish the proof that the bible is the word of God by pointing to historical evidence. We should establish it on the power of God 1 Corinthians 2:4-5. Learn how to heal the sick, learn how to cast out demons, and walk in faith so that God can show His power to the lost.

Cliffe says that the gospels are accurate history, maybe that's how he and many other Christians view it, I used to believe the events depicted in the Gospels were actual events, but now I'm much older and hopefully wiser, i think there is good solid reason to doubt what those ancient writings said. In particular, the New Testament is chock full of stories of Jesus performing amazing miracles, the fact is, there is absolutely no way whatsoever to prove 100% that he did those things. And that's a big stumbling block for me. I simply do not believe in supernatural occurrences. I am more than willing to be proved wrong.

@bonnie43uk - I never really believed in the supernatural myself, but upon doing research- I found some things out that convinced me to believe Jesus was real. I repented, asked Jesus to come into my life... shortly after that, the Holy Spirit revealed Himself to me, and because of that- that’s why I now believe all of the supernatural occurrences pertaining to Jesus.

Other than thousands of people following him around, people giving up positions of power to follow him (Paul) and the take over of Greek and Roman culture. Christians existed before the New Testament. The gospels were quoted in priest writings in the first century. Even his enemies never said he didn’t perform miracles, they only said he used the devil. Atheists wrote about him in reverence.

@@BobDobalena thanks for that Bob, as i see it, claims of the supernatural in a book are exactly that, .. claims. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. How could you prove to me that any of the miracles actually occurred?
